despite confirming their relationship, both mark and jaehyun tried to limit their affection in public. they got weird looks on the first date, but at the time they were too excited to minimize all the hugs and hand holding they shared that day.
now that they became more aware of some of the mixed reactions, they tried to tone it down. they only held hands under the table, or hugged when nobody was around. the biggest thing was kissing, but they refuse to do that unless they are in a private setting, not wanting pictures like that out.
jaehyun stared at mark as he spoke into his phone, johnny face timing him for something important. he only caught some words of english, but the rest he didn't bother tuning in, he was to focused on marks serious face.
jaehyun grabbed marks hand from over the table, playing with the black ring on pointer finger. mark looked over to him with a small smile, returning his serious look when he looked back to his phone. it was another five minutes before he finally hung up, a smile replacing his neutral face.
at marks smile, jaehyun smiled also, not letting go of his hand. he just moved it so he can hold it over the table instead, he was feeling a little risky so why not.
when their milkshakes came they finished them quickly, despite telling eachother to slow down each time they got brain freezes.
jaehyun paid—seeing as mark paid for their deserts the night before— and pulled mark out by his hand.
they decided to go to the bts dorms, mark saying something along the lines of "there's less people there." which was true, there was only seven other people at the dorm, but he'd rather be in marks room than his, (okay maybe it's just because he wants to see yuta but that's not the point).
"jaehyun you're back," jin said with a smile, looking up from his phone. ",tae wanted to talk to you about something, ask him about it later."
he only nodded and dragged mark to his room, the door shutting with a soft click. they two laid tangled together in silence, jaehyun occasionally rubbing his hand up and down marks back comfortingly.
silent times like this were something the two really cherished, not having to worry about anything but eachother. not any dances, not any songs, or schedules, just them in each other's arms.
seokjin noticed the aura around the two immediately when they walked into the dorm, having seeing the gentle hand holding and soft smiles. so he told the rest of the members in the dorm to try and stay quiet, and to not disturb the two in the room.
"i like you a lot." jaehyun mumbled, hugging mark tighter.
"i like you a lot too." mark said softly, looking up slightly to see jaehyun already looking at him. leaning down, jaehyun connected their lips in a short but sweet kiss. "i love you."
"i love you too, jae."
that's how the two spent the rest of the day, cuddled and whispering sweet nothings to eachother.
