AUTHORS NOTE: that moment when your book gets kinda noticed and then you start to feel self conscious in every chapter you make 😳 (this chapter isn't edited)
"wake up!"
jihwan groaned and shoved his brother away from him, trying to go back to sleep. though, jaehyun was having none of it. ripping the blankets off of jihwan, he smiled evilly, "wake up~"
"why?" he groaned, reaching for his phone that sat on his bedside table, throwing it back down after seeing the time. "why did you think i would get up at five in the morning, now go away."
"cmon, i have somewhere to take you." jaehyun said, shaking his brother softly.
after seeing the look on his older brothers face he gave in, "fine, fine, just give me a sec to get dressed."
"i don't know where you're taking me, but it's looking a lot like you're taking me to a secret killing spot."
jaehyun rolled his eyes, "i'm not going to kill you, just hurry before we miss it." before jihwan had time to ask 'miss what?' he was being pulled towards a small clearing, which sat a couple giant rocks next to each other and a tree.
jaehyun climed the rocks easily and sat on the flat one in the middle, patting the spot next to him. it took jihwan a couple tries, but he eventually got up and next to his brother—who was staring at the sky, the sun was rising and it looked absolutely beautiful.
"it's pretty right?" he asked softly, not looking towards jihwan, his eyes trained on the mix of colors in the sky.
"yeah.." pursing his lips, jihwan ran a hand through his hair, "why'd you bring me here?"
"whenever i was still living at home i used to come here every morning to watch the sunrise," he explained, glancing at jihwan. "i wrote my best lyrics right here, on this rock."
when jihwan didn't answer he spoke again, "you're practically sitting on a historical landmark." he joked, nudging jihwan softly.
"if that's the case i'll make this a tour spot and make some easy money then, huh?"
"you can't cause it's our secret spot." he said with a smile, "so whenever i visit we can come watch the sunrise, or if you're just stressed and want to be alone, this is the place."
jihwan didnt really like the now serious topic and cleared his throat, "okay i'm hungry, can you buy me some breakfast?" despite it sounded like a question, jaehyun knew it was a demand.
"yeah cmon."
it was late in the afternoon when the two brothers returned home, having spent the entire day out shopping and just hanging out. they had went to an art store after breakfast—jaehyun found out his brother was really into art, so he decided to buy him some new supplies.
they also went to a book stores and a park, later going to the mall and shopping for clothes. of course, they bought food for their siblings on the way back, so they can all have a family dinner—minus their parents, who were on a business trip.
"well look who finally remembered we existed." jieun said sarcastically, even though she was happy her younger brothers were getting along, she most definitely didn't appreciate the fact they didn't text or call them when they left.
"we bought food." jaehyun said sheepishly, holding up a bag.
"we meaning jaehyun, i'm really broke." jihwan said with a smile, earning a very 'manly' squeal from jiwoo.
the older male rushed over and pinched the youngest cheeks, "you just smiled, oh my gosh i should have taken a picture."
"whatever, don't make me regret eating with you guys." jihwan mumbled, though his smile was still there.
the entire night was filled with laughs, they played board games, and even—call them childish is you please—had a pillow fight and played hide and seek. they even managed to get a video chat with their parents as they watched the avengers together.
jaehyun really cherished these moments with his family, not being able to visit them often really took a toll on him, he didn't realize how much he truly missed them until he was with them.
so you can bet jaehyun didn't let go of his older sister when she tried to retreat to her room, instead laying his head on her lap as she ran her fingers through his hair.
