After my mom tried to sell me for drugs, that was the last straw. Since I had to drop out of school my last year I had got a job. Every since then, I had been saving up money for a time like this. Searching through my closet, I kept my stash in a jacket pocket. My eyes got big after I counted through the money, which totaled a little over a thousand dollars. At least, this money could tie me over until I move and get another job. All I had was one suitcase , good thing I didn't have many clothes. Packing the little that I did have, I looked around the vacant room. Walking out, I headed straight for the door. "Where you going," my mama asked me. "I'm leaving," I said bluntly. "Well, bring me back some cigarettes," she yelled after me. I was happy to be leaving here, and starting fresh somewhere else. No more drugs or fighting. I hitched a ride from my homeboy, Marcus. "What's up man!?" "What's up pretty boy, where you headed?"he asked." Drop me off at the bus station, homie." Marcus looked at me upside my head, "You got gas money?" "Now, you know I got you," I assured him. The rest of the ride, we talked about sports .

A couple hours later, we pulled into the bus station. "Thanks man, don't get to the city and forget where you came from," he said. "I won't," I said. I gave Marcus $50 for gas, before grabbing my suitcase, I headed toward the front desk. "Good morning, may I buy a one way ticket to Houston Texas, please?" I asked . "Yes, that will be $196.98," she replied. Handing her $200, she told me to keep an ear out for boarding instructions. Nodding my head, I walked off to the vending machine. There were so many people standing in lines and huddle against a wall charging phones. As I reached the vending machine, I pulled out a few dollars.

Looking over all the snacks, I put my money in the machine. I end up getting a two bags of chips, a honey bun, and in the soda machine I got a sprite. Taking a seat, I ate my snacks and drunk my soda. Three hours later, I heard a man saying everyone headed to Houston, Texas go through the middle doors. Handing my suitcase to the guy loading stuff, I got on the bus. The bus was cold even for me. The driver stopped several times, so that we could all have a break. Usually, I would take a smoke break or get some snacks. He informed us that this was our last stop, I decided to get a cup of coffee. Sipping on the coffee, I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. Pulling it out, I was shocked to say the least. None other than Tasha's name flashed across the phone. The phone kept ringing, until I received a text message. Opening the message, she had in all caps WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU???YOUR MAMA IS WORRIED SICK!!! On that note, I turned my phone off. Finally, we arrived in that long star state *aka* Texas. Looking out the window, I saw all the tall buildings. My mood changed from annoyed to overjoyed. Now, if I can find some apartments at a reasonable price. Taking the bus, I decided to get back in school and finish this time.

I had to find somewhere to lay my head for the night. So, I figured I would get some rest and take care of business in the morning.

The following morning, I woke up and thought it was all a dream. Pinching myself, I came to a realization I wasn't dreaming. I got up and swung my feet to the side of the bed. I stretched my arms out and yawned. Rising to my feet, I noticed I had morning wood. I need to hurry up and get me a girl here, I thought. Walking to the bathroom, I splashed some water on my face a couple times. Next, I took a piss that probably last five minutes. I never understood why I piss like there is a endless faucet inside my bladder during the morning. Washing my hands, I left the bathroom. I pulled out some Dickie shorts and a button down black an purple plaid shirt. My black Jordan's goes with almost everything, So I put them on. Today, I was sure to get enrolled in school, and do some job searching.
