School was nerve wrecking, we had to take test all day long. When it was finally over, I was very relieved. Hiding behind the corner, I waited patiently for Adrianna to come around the corner. As soon as Adrianna came out, I grabbed her around her waist, playfully. Apparently, she must've thought I was someone attacking her, because she hit me hard in my face. Shrieking out in pain, "What was that for?" I said rubbing my face. "Well maybe you shouldn't sneak up on me like that," she said joking with a little seriousness to her tone.
As we drove home, I could see she was happy. It feels good to be the one to make someone happy, I thought. We pulled into the driveway, and Adrianna bolted into the house up to her room. Taking my time, I got out and walked in the house. I planned this night to a T, and I didn't need anything or anyone to mess things up.
Walking up to the guest bedroom, I closed the door behind me." What am I gonna wear on this special night?"I asked myself. (A/N) No! I'm not crazy for talking to myself, I was always told that was ok as long as you don't answer yourself. I looked through the closet and I had found something to wear.
Immediately, I went to the bathroom to shower. When I finished, I got fully dressed in a blue polo shirt with some dark faded jeans. Brushing my waves, then I decided to brush my teeth again. I was ready in the next thirty minutes. I walked to Adrianna's room, and knocked on the door. "You ready in there?" I asked. "Yes, I'm coming," she replied. Standing there, I looked at my watch impatiently. When I looked up, Adrianna was standing there looking like a queen. The girl looked awesome, If I do say so myself. My mouth dropped open, as I looked her up and down. I had to control my hormones, or else I would do something her parents would never approve of. Our hands joined each others, as we made our way down the stairs. I had a feeling tonight was gonna be a good night!
Her parents were sitting on the couch when we walked in, and let them know we were leaving. I had already made reservations at Red Lobsters, since Audry told me Adrianna liked seafood. Instead of Adrianna driving, I took over to drive tonight. Her eyes got big as we pulled up to red lobster's. "Come on, baby," I smiled. We walked into Red Lobster's and was greeted at the door. "Yes Christian, is it? Your table is ready," the young man stated. Following the guy to our table, I pulled out the table for Adrianna to sit down. Less than five minutes later, a waiter approached us with a notepad and pen in hand. "May I interest you in some appetizers or drinks, perhaps?" The waiter asked. "Yes, drinks are fine for know,I'll have a sprite," I told the waiter. "I'll have a seven up, thank you," Adrianna stated shyly. Looking at the menu, we both agreed upon ordering the seafood platter. The waiter came back and placed our drinks on the table. "At you two ready to order your food yet?" The waiter asked looking between both of us. "Yes, we'll have two seafood platters," I ordered. The waiter took our order and then walked off. Fifteen minutes of idle chatting, then the waiter bought our food over placing it in front of us. We ate and continued talking .
After we finished eating, I pulled out a little black box carefully placing it on the table. Adrianna's eye grew the size as tennis balls and she put he hands over her mouth. Tears of joy filled her eyes,I got up and got down on one knee. "Will you make me the happiest man in Texas and be my wife?" I asked with all the confidence I could muster up. "Yes, yes of course I will," she cried as I placed the ring on her finger.
There were cheers and applause coming from all around the restaurant. Grabbing Adrianna in my arms, I swung her around looking into her eyes as if she was the only woman in the room . We kissed a long and passionate kiss, before leaving the restaurant.
There was a light on when we made it home. "I guess my parent's waited up for us, I can't wait to share the good news with them," Adrianna smiled while taking another look at her ring. We got out the car and walked in the house to share the news her parents. As we walked in hand in hand, I saw her parents sitting on the couch. Adrianna and I walked up to them both,and she started explaining the news. "Mom ..Dad, I have to tell you guys something, I'm not sure how your gonna take it but...I'M GETTING MARRIED!!" Adrianna flashed her diamond ring in their face. Her mother cried tears of joy and her father was speechless, but quickly shook it off. Audry pulled her daughter close,"I'm so proud of you baby!" Her dad reached out to her as she walked over to sit on his knee. "My babygirl has grown up, and blossomed into a beautiful young woman," he hugged me like he was holding on for dear life. "Daddy, no matter what, I'm always gonna be your little girl," Adrianna cried into her father's chest. I stood tall with my head held high, before Audry grabbed me and hugged me. Overwhelmed, but love and joy, I shed a few tears, also.
