*Short Chapter*
"Honey, wake up," my mom said shaking me lightly. Blinking a few times, my eyes popped up. "Oh shoot," I said leaping to my feet. "I have school mom, why did you wake me up this late?" I said angrily while running around like a chicken with its head cut off. "Love bug it's Sunday," my mom replied.
Stopping in my tracks, I looked at my mom with wide eyes. "Seriously," my shoulders sagged as I sat on my bed next to my mom. Feeling relieved, I leaned on my mom's shoulder. "I just came up here to see why you weren't woke yet?" She asked with a raised eyebrow. "I was up reading on into this morning, I was about to stop until there was a cliffhanger and I just had to finish it," I explained. My mom gave me an amused look, "OK sweetheart, just don't become sleep deprived, because you wanna finish a book," she said rising to her feet. " I cooked some stuffed bell peppers and bought your favorite oatmeal raisin cookies," she tempted me. When she said cookies, Immediately I lunged down the stairs to indulge in some mouth watering cookies. I could here my mom laughing at me, as I almost fell trying to make my way to the kitchen.
"Good afternoon, I see the dead has risen," my dad said jokingly. I laughed it off, because I was used to my parents saying things like that. Grabbing two cookies, I took a bite and my taste buds were jumping everywhere. "How was your outing with Christian?" My dad asked. I knew the interrogating questions would be asked sooner or later, I thought to myself. "It was fine, we enjoyed each others company." "He seems like a kind guy with a good head on his shoulders, I just wanna make sure my baby girl is happy," my dad said while drinking his coffee. " I am happy, he makes me feel like anything is possible," I smiled from ear to ear. "So, where is this going with the two of you, because if marriage isn't the goal, there's no point in a relationship...My dad stated looking at me as if he were waiting my response. "We're in a relationship," I said just above a whisper. My dad put his coffee and newspaper down in a flash. "Why didn't you tell us this before?" My dad was cut off as my entered the kitchen. "Tell us what, what I miss?" She asked. "Apparently, Adrianna and Christian are more than just friends," my dad said looking at me. Ducking my head in embarrassment, my cheeks were on fire. I knew this would happen, they would blow it out of proportion and interrogate me. My phone begin ringing, playing my new favorite song by Taylor swift: Shake it off.
"I stay out too late,
Got nothing in my brain,
That's what people say, mhm,
That's what people say , mhm. "
Click, I pressed the green button and answered the phone. Christian was talking way too fast for me to comprehend anything, but I gathered a word or two and tears threatened to seep out of the sides of my eyes. "Yes, of course I'll be there, give me ten minutes.
Running up the stairs, I didn't bother changing I just slipped my feet in some flip flops and bolted out the front door without closing it. I heard my parents trying to say something, but I was too focused on trying to be there for Christian when he needed me most.
Question: Have you waken up one morning and thought you had school, just to find out its the weekend?
