Tossing and turning, I could not go to sleep for the life of me. I wanted to be next to Adrianna, I don't understand why I'm feeling this way. It's like when I'm with her my skips a beat, when I'm not around her all I do is think about her . Maybe I'm falling for this girl, I will just let time take its course.
Deciding to text Adrianna, I picked my phone up. My happiness slowly faded as I read who I had text messages from. Opening each of the messages, my mouth dropped as I read one message in particular. Apparently, Tasha had text me letting know my mama was in the hospital. That's when I broke down, I dropped my phone on the floor. Crying into the mattress, I laid there feeling vulnerable. Why me? It seem like every time things going right, something bad always gotta go wrong. I take two steps forward just to get knocked five steps back.
Feeling weak, tired, restless and hungry, I managed to grab my phone off the floor. Dialing Tasha's number, I prepared for the worst and expected the best. She answered on the second ring, "Hello, where you been? You don't answer my calls or text?" She pouted. "It's a long story, but what happened to my mama?" I asked impatiently. "Somebody told me Peanut and some of them other thugs ran a train on her, and she was left for dead on the couch. Since, you hadn't been responding to me I figured something was wrong. I walked to your house, and saw ya mama passed out. I didn't think nothing of it, but when I came back from your room she looked like she wasn't breathing. I called the ambulance, and they begin questioning me, but I didn't tell them much, but what I saw when I was looking for you," Tasha finished. "Will you check on in the hospital, if you don't mind?" Christian asked. "Yeah I got you, but are you gone tell me where you at?" She asked. "I'm in Texas," I said slowly. Holding the phone away from my ear, because I knew Tasha was finna hit the roof. All I heard was loud talking and what sounded like cursing, before I put the phone back to my ear. "Calm down, the only r- Tasha cut me off. "Fuck you mean calm down, you all the way in another state," she spoke with rage leaking in her words. "Tasha can I explain?" There was a beep on the other end as I saw Adrianna calling. "Tasha, I gotta another call." "No, you finna explain everything and how you think it's fine to just up and leave," she spat. Another call came through from Adrianna, and I wanted so badly to answer it but I had to make sure it was all good on my mama end. "Look, the next morning after the night I spent with you, I walked in on Peanut holding my mama. He was talking about how she owed him money, and he said he should just take me. My mama told him he could have me, that's when I looked at her like she was crazy. Then he was finna grab me, but I beat the sh.t out his a$$. Packed my sh.t and then I was outta there," I explained.
"So you couldn't take me with you," she sulked. "You need to finish school, besides I had to start all the way over," I said. "Well, you bet not be fucking none of them females down there," she demanded. As if on cue, the phone beeped again and it was Adrianna. "Look, I gotta go, but call me when you know something about my mama," I reiterated before clicking over. "Hello, hey baby," I spoke as if nothing was wrong. "Are you OK? Why you haven't been answering your phone?" She quizzed. "I'm sorry baby, I was on a very important phone call." "So important that you can't answer when your girlfriend call?" She questioned. "I got a call from a old friend and she said "My mama is in the hospital, " I explained. "Wait! She? Who is she? Does she have a name?" "Chill, her name is Tasha, she's just an old friend letting me know about my mama," I assured her. "Yea,OK, I believe you."
When I hung up with Adrianna, I was startled when my phone begin vibrating again. One of my old girlfriend's calling, but I'll let it go to voicemail. I gotta get my number changed.
Later that night, Tasha called me back.
* Our Conversation*
Christian: Yea
Tasha: I went by there when we got off the phone earlier, the doctor said she stable, and she had some internal bleeding, but they caught it just in time. They claim they gone have to keep her for further testing. Overall, her vitals looking good, but she has to get some stitches due to the damage done to her lower areas.
Christian: OK, well at least she alive.
Tasha: Yea...where we stand in our relationship, since you all the way in another state, now?
Christian: Tasha, we can't be in a relationship, it's no point in it if I'm never gone be able to see you, but we can always be friends.
Tasha: I don't wanna hear that friend sh.t, we all know that's just a cop out. Man, and I thought you was real, boy bye.

After talking to Tasha and Adrianna trip pin', I was tired all over again. That night, I prayed before I went to bed.
Dear Lord, I know it's been a long time, but I'm coming to you now. I wanna thank you for how you have blessed me, tremendously. I just pray that my mama and dad stay safe, watch over them every night and keep them in the midst of your will. Forgive me, for all the sins I may be guilty of and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
