Arriving back at Adrianna's house, I grabbed my suitcase and followed Adrianna. "It may not be much, but it's something," She commented before opening up the door.
There was a flat screen mounted on the wall, a blue bean bag in the corner. The bed took up most of the room, I placed my clothes and shoes in the closet. The closet was the smallest part of the room, fortunately I didn't have many clothes.
I turned around when I heard a small knock on the door. "You settling in alright," Audry asked with a sheepish grin. "Yes ma'am, I feel in home already," I stated. "That's good, I made dinner if your hungry," she stated tempting. "Yes,I can go for some food right about now," I smiled a genuine smile for the first time in awhile.
Walking down the stairs, the wonderful smells were heavenly. Good thing, I have a fast metabolism or else I would big as big as a house. When I entered the kitchen, I stood there in utter shook. All the food that was before me I nearly had a anxiety attack. Before me there was fried chicken, macaroni & cheese, stream beans, butter beans, corn bread, potatoes salad, greens, peach cobbler and to top it off red koolaid.
"You just gone stand there, or you gone help yourself to a good home cooked meal?" Audrianna's father asked. Almost immediately, I grabbed a plate and started piling all kinds of food onto it. Audry poured me up a tall glass of koolaid. "Thank you, I said before digging in. Almost twenty minutes later, I had cleaned my plate and was gulping down the last of my drink. Rubbing my stomach, I was full as a tick. I bet Adrianna's dad is happy to have married such a women who can throw down in the kitchen,I thought. "The way to a man's heart is through cooking, some say."
Getting up from the table, Adrianna followed my lead. "I placed some fresh towels in your room, whenever you get ready to shower," Audry said. "Thanks,I said with a smile. "Do you wanna watch a movie or something?" Audrianna asked. "Yea, just lemme get a shower real quick.
Thirty minutes later, I had took a hot shower washing all the dirt and grim down the drain. Cleaning the tub out, I brushed my teeth with the toothbrush Audry gave me. "You ready to watch the movie?" Audrianna said with hands on hips at the door. "Yea," I replied. Following Audrianna down stairs, her parents were waiting to watch a movie, too. Though, I thought it was gonna just be me and my girl, I was still happy, nonetheless. Taking a seat on the plush couch, I prepared to watch the movie with my girl and her family.
The previews took forever, before the screen came to the main menu. We watched the movie and every so often we'd laugh. All together, the night was a success. A couple hours later, the movie was over. By that time, I was half asleep. Adrianna nudged me softly, waking me up before I had a chance to close my eyes. "Come on sleepy head, let's get you up to bed," Audrianna teased. I dragged myself up the stairs slowly, and made it to the bed. Audrianna, kissed me goodnight, before closing the door. The minute I pulled the covers over my body, I drifted off to a deep sleep.
Adrianna's parents let me know I could have a little time off school, but I told them it was ok. Waking up the next morning, the first person I saw was Adrianna. "You up sleepy head?" She smiled. Sitting up, I stretched my body out, my body must have gotten a little too attached to the comfort of the bed. "Yeah," I replied. Scrunching up her nose in disgust, "Somebody has morning breath," she giggled. "Come down stairs when you get yourself together, breakfast should be done by then," she kissed me on the cheek before leaving. Reluctantly, I dragged myself to the bathroom, washed my face and brushed my teeth. Putting on some deodorant, I walked to the closet to put some clothes on. After a good ten minutes or so, I was dressed and headed down the stairs to eat breakfast. When I arrived in the kitchen, there was a pile of pancakes in the center of the table. Eggs and bacon on either side of the pancakes, along with a pitch of orange juice. Finding a seat next to Adrianna, I grabbed a plate and piled four pancakes, some eggs and bacon onto it. Then I poured myself some orange juice to wash it all down. After the delicious meal, Adrianna and I were headed off to school.
