I could hear the crowds before we even arrived as the screams filled the air. My heart began pounding inside my chest upon arrival. The streets were engulfed with a blue flame that I had never seen before.
Thinking back to my old science class, blue flames are way hotter than a regular flame which made this situation all the more stressful. I looked to my left to see Shoto surprisingly calm. This confused me but I honestly think that's how Shoto always is. Nothing seems to phase him much.
"HELP US HEROS!!!" a woman hollers from below causing me to snap back to the task at hand.
"You take the north side and try your best to get the citizens to safety. I'll handle this part and keep this guy away from everyone." Shoto ordered as I nodded shooting my way in the direction he said. I assumed he was trying to simply surround the villain in a hope to distract long enough to get the civilians to safety. Plus there was no way we were the only heroes on our way. Once the others arrive this will be a lot easier.
As soon as my feet hit the ground I was confronted head-on with the damage this crook did. Citizens were running for their lives as cars and parts of buildings burned a blue flame around us. Shooting off my vines I quickly grabbed hold to as many citizens as I could and gently pulled them to safety. I could hear explosions only a few feet before me and only hoped Shoto had everything under control.
After pulling my last person into the safe arms of the authorities I quickly raced back to where Shoto was. He and the villain were going head to head when I came around the corner. Shoto looked so serious as his red flames merged with the villain's blue ones. There was an uncanny similarity between the two but I couldn't figure out why.
"MISAKI!" My head quickly twisted around in all directions until I saw Bakugou racing towards me, "MISAKI WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?! THIS IS TOO DANGEROUS!"
"Heroes never back down Katsuki! We have to help!"
Bakugou looked concerned but nodded his head as he looked behind me at Shoto and Dabi fighting head to head.
"Is it just him?" Bakugou grumbled talking about Dabi
"Yes! He has been destroying the whole city! I took all the civilians to safety so thankfully the streets seem to be cleared. Bakugou looked to be giving a gentle smile in appreciation.
"Good work" I felt the familiar butterflies in my stomach but that quickly washed away as I hear more explosions behind me. This was no time to be reconciling.
"Fucking A!" Bakugou yelled as we both watched Shoto shoot off his ice to level away from the villain.
"LET'S GO FUCKING HELP!" Bakugou hollered causing the veins in his neck to bulge as we both raced closer to the two flames.
I could hardly feel my feet hitting the pavement due to how fast we were running. The last thing I wanted to see was Shoto hurt, but of course, I spoke too soon. As soon as we arrived Shoto was lying on the ground pulling himself up but his arms shook beneath him. The villain was walking towards him as the blue flames quickly grew in his hands.
Without batting an eye Bakugou was shooting off his cannon-like blasts in the direction of the villain knocking him back into the building behind him. The two instantly began blasting flames off in every direction between Bakugou's growls. He loved this stuff and it showed. The way his whole body moved with every punch was something everyone loved to watch him so much. Why I loved to watch him so much. But right now I couldn't do that. We had a city to save and I also had a friend before me who was slowly fading out on me.
"SHOTO!" I yell causing him to lift his head at me. His whole face was cut and beaten which was hard to see. My feet had a mind of their own as I raced out in the middle of the fighting to help my friend. Bakugou was charging out after me yelling but I couldn't make out what he was saying. I reached out for Shoto helping him to his feet as he coughed into my shoulder.
"The hell happened to you?!" I groaned trying to hold him up. He felt like complete dead weight in my arms as I tried my best to lift him to his feet. He tried his best to gather his footing but after multiple attempts, it was no use. I needed to think of a new plan. Before I could think of a new game plan I listened as Shoto began to clear his throat beneath me. My eyes quickly averted between him and the fighting before me.
"Get out of here Misaki" he sighed trying to gather himself again causing my eyes to widen as he continued to try and speak "you need to -"
"Well look who it is..." my eyes widen at the sudden interruption. I turned to see the Dabi standing before me and Shoto. My stomach instantly dropped as I stared up at the disfigured man before me. His tall frame was intimidating enough, but to add to it his whole body was severely burned due to his quirk. He stared down at me with a serious expression I had seen before. His eyes were so intense and so familiar that I couldn't look away. The light blueish hue was something unforgettable on such a terrible looking person.
I was too captivated in figuring out how I knew this figure that I couldn't fully comprehend the situation I was in until I felt the heat of his quirk. He was stepping closer and closer to Shoto and me with every second. Which explained the heat that was taking over my whole body. I needed to think of something fast or we both won't be able to see our way out of this one.
There was no way I could shoot my poisonous fumes with Shoto right beside me. So I instantly shot my vines in the direction of his wrists. Grabbing hold I could feel the heat permeate off of him as I tightened my grip pointing his hands down to keep from aiming at us. I could see my vines burning off slowly and knew it was only a matter of time before he broke free again.
"FUCK YOU SCUM!" Bakugou was now mid-air winding up to punch the villain. I watched as his flaming fist smashed into the villain causing the ground beneath my feet to shake aggressively. Shoto seemed to be gathering himself more as his eyes slowly began opening more. I held him tight to my side as I continued to shoot vines in the direction of the villain trying my best to help with Bakugou's head to head combat.
"M-Misaki" Shoto's weak voice croaked beside me as I turned my attention to him, "Please get out of here... Touya doesn't know when to stop.."
I wasn't sure if I had heard him right or if he was just really out of it, but my mind raced as I continued to watch Bakguou fight off the villain. He seemed to be holding his own for now. I needed to find a place to set down Shoto quickly so I could help.
Rushing over to the side I set Todoroki down near an official who helps him from there before I race back to help Bakugou. Upon arriving, Bakugou has a number of cuts but so does the villain. I quickly shoot off my vines and wrap up the villain with all my might lifting him off the ground.
"GET OUT OF THE WAY BAKUGOU!" I yell watching as his eyes shoot back in concern but he complies knowing what's coming next. I quickly shoot off enough perfumed smoke to knock him out as Bakugou covers his nose with his shirt behind me.
Feeling the villain slowly stop struggling I bring him down towards us. Staring straight at him I can fully take in what he looks like. His eyes remained opened and on me as a cocky smile spread across his face that caused me to step back.
"Nice to see you again Misaki..."
My heart instantly stopped as I turned my head at him.
"W-what did you just fucking say..."
"Don't you remember me?" The figure laughed viciously which made me even more nervous as I felt my knees shake a bit. How did this guy know me?!
"MISAKI WATCH OUT!" Bakugou yelled behind me but before I could react I felt the flames quickly blast against me throwing me back.
"MISAKI! MISAKI!!!"
Bakugou's screams were the only thing I could hear in the distance as the world around me began to turn black.
