Heart to Break - Kim Petras
After applying a thin layer of lip gloss I cannot help but stare back at my own reflection. It had been a few days since I heard from Bakugou. Not once did he reach out to text either. Of course, I could have done something, but he was the one who ran out on me. Was I so wrong for giving him space? Should I have just texted him earlier instead of letting these days go by?
These thoughts kept me up at night which resulted in the dark circles I was now trying to cover up. This was unlike me... to get so wrapped up in emotions and feelings for someone, but I just couldn't help it.
Walking out into my room I could see the TV screen flash images of Bakugou once again saving the day with the help of Kirishima. I could recognize that red-haired friend of Bakugou's anywhere even if I only met him once. Bakugou always talked so highly of him that it honestly felt like I knew him.
A smile crept up the side of my face as I watched the highlights flash across the screen. They worked well and moved in sync with each other which only made it worse for the villain. As the highlights finished it ended with Bakugou and Kirishima waving at the crowds as multiple young girls threw themselves on the boys. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at the very groupie type girls plastered on the screen. Neither one of the boys seemed upset by any means as they flashed each other a toothy grin. Kirishima gave Bakugou a thumbs-up as the pair began laughing.
My face began to heat up from the sight as my eyebrows furrowed. Was this really the same Bakugou that I thought I knew? It was as if he was throwing this in my face. I couldn't help but think he was doing this in hopes I would see it, which only annoyed me more. Turning the TV off I quickly crossed my arms over my chest and turned to my closet. Some nerve.
As I scanned through my closet I couldn't help but think how silly I was being. For the first time in my life, I was being invited out to a party, by people that want to get to know me. Yet here I am dwelling on Bakugou still. Letting out a sigh as I rub my index finger against my throbbing temple. Tonight was going to be fun and I wasn't going to think about him anymore. Enough of him ruining my mood.
Ochako was on her way here to pick me up and I needed something easy to slip on over my fitted black dress. I wasn't trying to bring any attention to myself so I reached out for this oversized leather jacket and threw it on over my matching dress. Sitting down on the edge of my bed I quickly laced up my Doc Martins as the doorbell rang downstairs.
Jumping up quick I race down to the door and swing it open with one swift pull. As the cool air hits my legs first I look out to see a very smiley Ochako. How could she always look so sweet and happy all of the time?
"Wow! You look amazing Misaki!" She beamed looking up at me. She looked so adorable wearing an oversized blush pink sweater with a light cream skirt underneath.
"Oh wow, Thanks Ochako," I could feel my face blushing as I smiled down at her, "You look great too," I watched as her smile grew bigger as she reached for my hand.
"Well, let's go then! The boys are already there waiting for us!"
"The boys?" I say following her lead even though I had a good idea of what boys she was talking about.
"Well Deku, Shoto, and Iida," Ochako kept her pace as I followed, "and of course Momo, Tsu and Mina are there too."
I felt myself tense up. I never really did get along with girls well so it always made me a bit nervous jumping into an already established friend group. Ochako could clearly feel my hesitation as she stopped and turned to look at me.
"Everyones excited to see you Misaki, they cannot wait to get to know you more after I bragged on how cool you are."
Ochako had a way of making someone feel so calm just by her voice. Shoto always talked so highly of her to me and now I was seeing it for myself. It made me feel good knowing that I had someone other than Shoto in my corner.
