"Patrick, wake up!"
"I'm not going to school." He said.
"No! We're picking up Emily, remember?"
He groaned.
I laughed. "Come on, silly goose!"
He sat up and rubbed his eyes.
"Come on!" I tugged at his arm.
He laughed as he stood, "I'm coming, I'm coming!" He walked over to the bathroom, "Lemme take a shower first."
I pouted, "Fine!"
He walked into the bathroom and got into the shower.

"Here are the papers." Mrs. Rivers handed me a packet to fill out. After handing me the stack of papers, she set what I supposed was Emily's car seat next to the desk beside me.
Emily ran up to me with a little Sally doll in her arms. "Hi!" She said.
"Hi, sweetie." I said.
She smiled and ran off to Patrick who was talking to some lady.
He looked down at Emily and smiled.
She ran off and these two boys stopped her, taking her doll from her.
"Look at little Emily! What a freak! Likes Nightmare Before Christmas! What a freak!" The taller of the two boys said.
"Please give her back." Emily pleaded.
"Emo! Look at you!" The taller boy looked at the shorter one. "Have you ever seen a blonde emo!?"
"Emo and stupid!" The shorter one laughed.
Emily started crying.
Something snapped inside of me. Probably the anger boiling up inside of me from my heart breaking because two little boys were hurting Emily.
I walked over to the little boys.
Patrick followed me and picked Emily up while I snatched the doll from the boys, "You know... I don't think I've ever seen two boys be so mean to a little girl. What? Are you afraid to pick on someone your size?" I asked.
The shorter boy tugged at the taller ones sleeve.
The taller boy looked at the shorter one who pointed to my arm.
I looked down at the Nightmare Before Christmas tattoo and smirked. "Am I emo too?" I asked.
"The king of emos..." I heard Patrick whisper to Emily. They both snickered.
I had to hold back the laugh.
The boys looked terrified.
"Leave the other kids alone. Stop picking on them if you do." I said. I turned to Patrick and Emily. "Do you have your stuff, kid?"
She shook her head.
"Well... go get it!" Patrick chuckled as he set Emily down and watched her run off.
After watching her run off, Patrick turned to me. "We should invite Joe, Marie, Andy and Gerard over. And whoever else you'd think would love to come." He said.
I smiled. "We should." I put an arm around his shoulder and watched Emily run back over to us with a little pink suitcase.
"You ready?" I asked.
She nodded.
"K... lets get home." Patrick said.
Emily smiled and held up her arms.
