I forgot to tell Pete I was accepted into that school online, so now I can take care of Emily and do schoolwork... this should be fun...
Anyways, I wake up to find Pete gone. That's right... he's at work. I sighed and sat up, rubbing my eyes.
Taylor was out, as usual... and Emily was still asleep, I think. She's not in here walking me up.
I pulled the laptop from my nightstand onto my lap and signed into the school website.
Right as I got into working on math, Emily walked in rubbing her eye.
I looked over the top of the laptop at her and smiled, "Morning, princess."
"Morning, daddy." She said sleepily. She climbed up onto the bed next to me, her Sally doll going on first. She sat down and watched the computer for a little while.
Soon, I felt a pressure on my arm. I looked down to see Emily laying on me asleep. I chuckled and pulled her onto my lap, careful of the computer, before kissing her head. "I hope you're not like this in school." I mumbled as she curled up in a ball and sucked her thumb into her mouth. I kept an arm under her to keep her from falling and the other one around her to keep her warm.
I had forgotten about the computer while I was cuddling Emily until it dinged at me.
I looked up to see a tab saying I had five minutes left to do the work. I rushed through it, Emily still on my lap, and then set the computer to the side. I glanced down at the still sleeping girl and smiled.
Emily was, is, adorable. She's one of the most upbeat little girls you could ever ask for. And she's very sweet and very respectful. Honestly, I didn't think I'd have this much fatherly love for someone until I was at least in my twenties. (Or when you're thirty... but hey! Just saying!)
I've always wondered what it'd be like to have a child at a young age... and now I know, it's actually pretty cool. (No... nuh-uh! Fanfics only, guys! Don't be gettin pregnant at sixteen... cuz that's just not right... leave to the stories, loves...)
I stroked her hair for a minute.
Emily slept like a little angel. (Not angle, guys... if you get that... ;p) it was so cute. She yawned and opened her eyes.
I chuckled. "Well morning again, sleepy head."
"Morning..." She yawned. "Daddy?"
"Hmm?"
"What were you doing on the computer?"
"It's called math."
"It made me fall asleep."
I laughed. "Well, silly bear... it makes me fall asleep, too."
"It looks like it can make anyone fall asleep."
"Not uncle Joe... he's a math wiz."
"Uncle Joe the Hoe?" She asked.
"Where'd you hear that?" I asked, trying to suppress my laugh.
"Daddy."
"It's not a very nice thing to say, so please don't say it again." I said.
"But daddy said it when I first met uncle Joe and aunt Marie."
"But daddy's not very nice, now is he?"
She giggled. Then she moved so she was sitting on my lap, only on her legs. (I didn't know how to phrase that.)
I looked at her as she looked around. "What's up, silly bear?" I asked.
"I like your room." She said.
