"Morning, baby." Patrick mumbled happily as I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him closer.

"Morning." I said.

"Did we actually sleep without having to get up in the middle of the night?" He asked.

"I think we did." I kissed the side of his head and tried to fall back asleep.

But you know the rules... if you have kids, you can't sleep.

Emily was lying in between us when I woke up a half an hour later.

I yawn and sit up, rubbing my eyes.

Emily was asleep and so was Patrick.

I smiled down at them before standing. I walk down the stairs into the kitchen and brew some coffee.

I get about an hour to myself. An hour in which I sat and watched TV.

Emily was the first on up.

Then Patrick.

Patrick walked downstairs all dressed. "I'm going to go to the store. And then pick the rest of my stuff up from my parents'." He said.

"Okay." I said.

"Can I go!?" Emily asked excitedly.

Patrick nodded. "Go get a shower and get dressed. I'll wait for you."

Emily ran off and got ready.

Patrick got Emily into the car and buckled her into her car seat.

As they were driving, Patrick got a scare.

A car pulled up along side them and then pulled in front of them, almost taking out the front of their car. Then it went back to the side and almost ran them off the road.

Patrick pulled over and sat with his head in his hands, trying to calm his breathing along with his racing heart. His adrenaline level skyrocketed, making him shake.

After he felt a little better, he put his hand on the shoulder of the passenger seat and turned to look at the young girl behind him. "Are you okay, honey?" He asked.

His daughter nodded and smiled.

Patrick sighed and pulled out his phone, debating on whether to call Pete. He thought it'd be good to so he could calm his nerves.

He shut off the engine and called his boyfriend.

"Hey, baby." His fiance called sweetly.

"Hey." Patrick was on the verge of tears.

"What's wrong?" Pete asked, sensing something wrong.

"We almost got into an accident and I could have sworn I saw my life flash before my eyes."

"Oh my God! Baby, are you Okay?"

"I'm fine... just a little shakey." Patrick sniffled and wiped his eyes.

"Calm down." Pete cooed.

"I will." Patrick chuckled. "I'm going to get to the store. I'll see you later."

"Alright, bye, baby. I love you."

"I love you too." Patrick hung up.

When they got to the store, Patrick set Emily on his shoulders and walked through the aisles.

Emily stole Patrick's hat and set it on her head. The hat fell in her eyes and she giggled, trying to hold it up.

A woman stopped the father and the daughter and smiled. "Is that your little sister?"
