Tree Girl (Poem)

Dunno, don't like this much, but I was in a rhyming mood so...

I have learned the difference between lost and free

I learned it from the falling leaves

I know how deep my roots must grow

I know from mistakes made in winter snow

I have learned to measure the thickness of bark

I learned from the width around my heart

I know the gentle breezes that make branches dip

I know from the dew my green leaves sip

I have learned the feel of green new growth

I learned from the scent of rising hope.
