Alexia’s POV

Third day in, and after a whole night and day’s rest, Lee looked a lot better.

I had returned to the room Sunday to find Lee passed out on the couch, and I felt bad about waking him at 12:30 so he could be on time for his meeting.

He looked like an utter zombie as he scrambled to shower and get dressed, movements clumsy and he was swaying almost as if he was drunk as he stumbled into the bathroom.

After a shower though, he was completely re-composed and refreshed. He left and I decided that to just relax and start on the massive amounts of schoolwork my parents insisted I take with me. It had given me something to do at the very least, and I had studied an entire day’s worth of notes from all my classes before Lee returned at about 4:30pm.

Then we decided to eat an early dinner and hit the hay. I was feeling extremely jet lagged at this point, and figured I could just study later for the tests and quizzes I knew I would have to take as soon as I got back.

Yesterday was spent lounging around and resting some more, the jet lag fading. I had also finished most of my work for school too, lifting a heavy weight off my shoulders.

Now however, we were both reenergized and Lee didn’t have anything business-related to do so we decided to spend the day together.

“Where do you want to go first?” Lee asked, sipping his tea gingerly. He was looking at a website that depicted all the best places to go.

“I don’t know. Wherever’s fine,” I called to him from the bathroom. I was brushing out my wet, gnarled hair, wincing every time I encountered a large knot.

“How about the Meiji Shrine?” Ridding myself of the remaining knots, I walked out, my hair now straight.

“Sounds good,” I told him, coming up behind him to look over his shoulder. On the screen I saw a picture of a beautiful old-looking shrine, with stone steps and made out of wood. “Wow,” I murmured, gazing at it. Even I had to appreciate something this beautiful.

“Well, it’s only 8:04am, so how about we get some breakfast then we can go?”

“Sure, that’d be great. Room service or go out?”

“I saw a few quaint café type places, they’ll probably have something there. Let’s just walk around until we find a place we like.”

I went over to grab a light sweater and my black converse. I decided on a loose navy blue shirt over a dark turquoise camisole, paired with white skinny jeans as my outfit for today, as I knew we’d be walking around Tokyo.

“Yeah, let’s go,” I told him once my shoes were securely on. I saw that he had put on a grey blazer over his light blue button up, and he had finished the look with a pair of jeans and grey vans.

He held his arm out, and I automatically walked over to him, my arm going around his waist as his settled on my shoulders.

We went down the elevator and out of the hotel, our eyes adjusting to the natural daylight.

Somehow our hands ended up intertwined as we walked, Lee translating a few of the names for me. Apparently he knew the basics of a lot of languages, just adding to his charm and charisma.

We were walking past an open door when the loveliest aroma floated to me, making my mouth water.

“Let’s go in there,” I murmured, allured by the sweet scent. I tugged Lee in with me, who held no complaint.
