Alexia's POV

I had been going back and forth all day, debating whether or not to meet him. I actually decided to just tell him at lunch, after asking him to talk privately. But when I looked for him, he was nowhere to be seen in the cafeteria, and neither was Ashley.

However I knew they were both here. I had seen Ashley this morning, and I saw Colin in a class we shared.

Checking the clock on the wall of the classroom, my heart thudded as the hand got closer and closer to the time school let out.

The bell rang as soon as it hit 1:49pm, and while everyone else hurried to get out of here, I took my time. I was going to be here until 2:15pm anyways, so why rush?

"Bye Mrs. Bellvenue," I called to the kind old lady who was my free period supervisor.

"Bye honey, have a nice rest of the day," she replied, before attending to more work on her desk.

Strolling out of the classroom in a casual manner, I wondered briefly what I should do before I met him in the gym. I shrugged, figuring I might as well get a head start on my homework.

Going to the nearly empty cafeteria, I chose an area that was somewhat secluded to do my homework in peace. I pulled out my AP Calculus things and my calculator, getting started on the problems assigned.

"Hiya," someone greeted as they hovered over me. I was in the middle of my seventh problem with thirteen more to go.

"Uh hi?" I responded as I looked up at them.

It was a girl, a freshman or sophomore maybe.

"Are you Alexia Chong?"

"Yes, why?"

"I was told to give you this at, then tell you to go to the senior hallway and take a left." She gave me a sweet smile, holding out a red rose.

I blinked at her, before staring at the rose, puzzled. "Who told you to give this to me?" I questioned, gingerly taking the rose stem in between my fingertips.

As soon as I grabbed the rose, she shrugged, walking away with a secretive smile pulling at her lips.

"That was peculiar," I muttered, looking at the rose. My eyes drifted up to the clock in the cafeteria, and I momentarily panicked. "Oh geez, it's already 2:13. I need to go if I'm to meet Colin in time."

Quickly packing up my things, I darted from the cafeteria to the senior hallway, the fastest way to the gym through the doors and down a couple more hallways.

It was just as I was turning right towards the exit doors when I remembered the girl's instructions.

She told me to turn left.

My footsteps faltered, and I thought about this for a second before pivoting and turning left.

I walked down the hall, thinking that he wouldn't be mad if I showed up a little late. A minute or two wouldn't make a difference.

As soon as I went through the doors that separated the senior hallway from the lobby, someone else ambushed me.

"Alexia Chong?" I squeaked at the voice, turning to see a guy standing right beside the doors. I didn't even answer him as he handed me another red rose, and gave me another set of mysterious directions. "Go up the main stairs." Then he too walked away, back through the doors I had just came through, with a smile on his face too.

I was really befuddled by this point, but went through the lobby to go up the main set of stairs. When I passed by people in the somewhat empty halls, their eyes widened and they whispered to each other giggling once they saw me. This aroused suspicion in me, but whenever I would stop to ask anyone about it, they would shake their heads and scurry off.
