We run in circles .
You throw away your dreams in the sky
hoping they fly high ,
& I stand here to catch them ,
to hold them and sing songs of
resilience and faith.

When I lose myself within
the crowd of what ifs'
and looming doubt .
You offer me a hand of hope
pulling me out of chaos into
the clarity of your mind.

You & I .
We run in circles.
You talk about falling in love &
all I feel is its warmth
and the fear of falling out of love .

You gift me emotions
and I keep replaying them .
I tell you about the caution tape
around my heart
and you advise me that it's okay
to be vulnerable ,that it's safe enough
to feel .

You and I .
We run in circles .
You wonder about finding your place
in this world &
I tell you it'll always be in the hearts
of the people who genuinely love you. Always.

I talk about how time melts familiar faces into strangers & all you do is smile
at this blessing and a tragedy.
When this world becomes too loud
and heavy , we sit together under the moonlight saying nothing and feeling everything.

At times when you forget who you are ,
I sit beside you listing
all the the lives you have saved
- sometimes your own , sometimes other lives.

And then there are times
when you are shining so brightly , that all I do is pray that
this moment lives forever. 💙
