You step out of home timidly
The skyline with it's soft tinge whispers lightly -
"live today as if it were your last".
You throw away a careless smile and walk away.

Soon the sun meets you. You both study at the school of youth.
Love and leaving become the most tangled concepts to understand.
Hours melt & soon you find yourself dissolving in his warmth
forgetting that every good thing leaves.
Across the hemisphere of acceptance
and not being enough,
you both inhale silence and breathe out understanding.

Friendship finds a new home in you two.
You carry your heart on sleeve,
his scorching heat trying to keep the coldness of the world at bay.
He packages his love in different shades of yellow
and you struggle to differentiate among them

wondering if it's there at all.

Sometimes he gifts you unintentionally hurt
and thus the art of letting go ;
sometimes moments that make you fall in love with yourself
with life itself.

At times he hides behind the clouds

and between the cycle of remembering & forgetting
you curse the unsaid stay' that melted away in your mouth.
The word ' last ' chimes
and realization dawns upon you

about the should haves' & the lives you could've lived.

He returns back with a sad smile,
the skyline breaking into dusk building spaces for goodbyes.

Instead of greeting you try running away with the sun,
ending running out of time.
Soon the sun unwillingly bows down tired
The sky weeps for such people into
different shades of orange and yellow
wishing endings to be fictional.

This world is a circle.
The sun arrives, so do people,
they leave and come back in different shades
creating different chapters of our lives.
Each day 'love and leaving look different.
So do you. So do you. So does this day
