Sam had arrived home at the exact moment his girlfriend appeared at the door. Sophia wasn't much of an interesting person. Sam in fact didn't like her at all, he didn't understand why he wanted to spend time with her or even be her boyfriend. She was nothing like the other girls he's met, especially Kat, god that girl was beautiful and there was something familiar about her he still couldn't put his finger on it. Sophia crossed her arms and leaned against the doorframe waiting for Sam to approach her. Knowing that he couldn't escape, he had walked over to Sophia waiting for the onslaught of insults that he was about to endure.

"Where have you been?" says Sophia, her brown eyes filled with anger. "I've been waiting for you since 12pm!" The fact that Sophia had been at his house the entire afternoon made him shudder. He felt like she was holding him on a leash like a dog, why was she always stalking him?

"You know where I've been Sophia," says Sam. "I've been recording a video for YouTube,"

"Ugh, babe, you need to give that a rest" she said. "YouTube is for lowlife people," that was the last straw, Sam had put up with her sorry ass for too long and it was time that they ended their relationship. Pushing past Sophia, Sam grabbed her arm and dragged her to her room. Whatever was going on in her mind was likely something she had been waiting for a while. Well this time, he wasn't going to let the words slip out of his mouth.

"Where are we going?" she asked.

"To some place private, my bedroom,"

"Really?"

"No Sophia don't think that way," Once they had gotten to Sam's room, he pulled her in and closed the door. After the door was closed, he turned toward Sophia his eyes filled with determination. "I'm breaking up with you," he said bluntly. Upon hearing those five words, Sophia's expression changed. Shock spread throughout her face and then it was replaced with anger.

"What did you just say?" she asked as she clenched her hands into fists.

"I'm breaking up with you," says Sam not backing down.

"But why Sammy?"

"Because there's someone else, another girl,"

"Another girl? Who is this other girl?"

"Sorry, I'm not going to tell you, but I need you to respect my decision, now get out of my house,"

"But we were made for each other!" she protested.

"No, we aren't" seeing that she wasn't going to leave him alone, Sam dragged her out of the bedroom and slammed the door in her face. On the receiving end, Sophia was not at all pleased about what she had just witnessed. Her boyfriend, now ex had a crush on someone else and she was going to figure out who that girl was. Even if it meant that she was going to stalk him until she found out who had Sam around their little finger.

Meanwhile, Kat had just finished eating her dinner and was making her way to the kitchen where she began cleaning the dishes. She was also waiting for her stepfamily to head to bed which wasn't much longer. Like planned, hours later her stepfamily had gone to bed. Seeing her chance, she grabbed her phone and texted Tara and Devyn, letting them know that they could come over but had to wait outside. What Katrina planned to do was that she was going to sneak out and head over to a recording studio located in the school she went to. Walking down to the room she entered pretending that she was going to bed. Closing her door, she walked over to her hidden compartment and pulled her songbook out.

She also grabbed her backpack and placed her songbook in the bag and quickly snuck out the moment she knew that her friends were outside. After she successfully got out, she raced to the front and got into Devyn's car. Sitting in the backseat was Tara and, in the drivers, seat was Devyn. Once Katrina got into the car, Devyn backed out of the driveway and started driving to the school. This was the only time they were able to do anything together except maybe talking to each other at school.

"So," says Devyn "Stepfamily is asleep?"

"Yeah," says Kat. "I did make them a heavy meal, so they were out like a light immediately after,"

"Good," says Tara. "We don't need them to interrupt your music,"

"Agreed,"

"So, guys, I have some news to share with you,"

"What?" says Tara and Devyn together.

"I ran into a boy today,"

"What's his name?" asks Tara.

"Spill everything!"

"Well," says Kat. "His name is Sam Golbach and-"

"Wait," spoke Tara. "As in, Sam Golbach, the rich guy?"

"Oh honey," says Devyn. "Why?"

"He isn't so bad, he's actually really kind,"

"Yeah, and filthy rich! Katrina, he is so not like us,"

"But,"

"I know his kind," interrupted Tara. "They're nothing but jackasses who use girls like us to get what they want,"

"You're only saying that because you had an incident with one of them," answers Kat.

"Yeah, and as soon as he was done with me, he threw me on the curb,"

"Maybe he isn't so bad?" said Devyn reassuringly. Tara shrugged her shoulders and sat back keeping quiet until Devyn and Kat couldn't stand it anymore. "So, what's the scoop? What song are you planning to record?"

"Sorry girls, but I'm not going to tell you," answers Kat. Eventually the three friends arrived at the school. They were often allowed to go to the local high school and use the recording studio at night since it was full during the day. The school was just a red brick building with the giant sign that were painted in school colors. Red, blue and gold, Devyn parked the car in the parking lot and climbed out. After getting out, the girls made their way around the back and entered the building, not realizing that they weren't the only ones at the school. Walking down the halls silently, they arrived at the recording studio and made their way toward the booth where Katrina began to record numb
