As choir had started, Kat finally made it as the last student entered. She kept quiet so that way her stepsiblings couldn't do anything about it. Choir was her favorite class of the entire school year. She loved singing even when it was in a group, she was not prepared for what came next. As she took a seat next to her two friends the teacher entered, he was excited and was ready to start the class.
"Alright class settle down!" she said as she fixed her black framed glasses and smoothed her hair. "I have some tremendous news for you!" Katrina's classmates around her were sitting quietly. Wondering what the big news was. Kat had a feeling that she knew where it was going to go.
"In four weeks, you will get a chance to perform," the teacher continued. "Not just in public but in front of recording managers," a loud cheer was heard, even Kat's friends got excited. They were going to perform for many people especially recording managers. "Each student will be aloud to create their own song that they believe will give them a recording contract!" Another cheer, Kat was excited deep down. She was ready to show those recording managers what she had in store. However, she was slightly worried wondering if they would like the song. Tara and Devyn smiled at Kat reassuringly, they knew that Kat had the confidence to write and record her songs.
"Now then, after the introduction, how about we get started?" asks the teacher. Everyone nodded and they began to launch into a song. At the end of class, Katrina, Tara and Devyn walked out together. Katrina had stuffed her song book into her backpack and made her way over to the locker, it was nearly lunch time and Kat was starving.
"Katrina! Are you going to submit one of your songs to a manager?" asks Devyn.
"Why bother?"
"Um..." says Devyn. "because your such a talented songwriter and musician?"
"Devyn, I can't even play my instruments without my steps telling me to shut up," at that moment, Katrina's stepsisters started walking down the hallway. Kat just couldn't take a break because no matter where she went, her stepsisters were always there watching her every move.
"Just hide Katrina," whispers Tara.
"Where do you think I can hide without them noticing?!"
"Oh crap! Blonde crush heading this way!"
"Wait what?!" exclaims Katrina as she turned to see that Sam and his best friend Colby were walking toward her. That wasn't a good sign, if her stepsiblings saw a totally rich guy approaching Katrina then they would get mad and demand to know what was going on. "Oh god no!"
"Kat, you've got this," says Devyn. "Show the steps that you can also find someone to love," As if on cue, Sam arrived at the same time Alice and Valerie stopped walking and watched as Sam started talking to Katrina.
Valerie's POV
I watched as my lame sister, Katrina spoke to the one and only Sam Golbach. He was one of the hottest and richest guys in the school and he was walking with his best friend Colby. Alice, and I have had crushes on Sam and Colby since the day they had uploaded a video to YouTube. I was expecting that someday, Sam would have asked me out. Then Colby could have gone out with Alice and if we lasted long enough we would have a double marriage.
I was shocked to find out that Katrina and Sam seemed to get along perfectly fine. Not something that you expect to see from a rich guy. Kat's father was a rich person too, that was the reason my mother married him so she could have his money. However, she couldn't have the money unless Kat's father was dead. I think you know where it would have been going, of course I wasn't expecting to have a stepsister! I was expecting to have a new stepfather, and Katrina was everything I was not. She had blue and black hair, I had brown hair. She had great friends, I did not. She was also disgustingly nice, my family and I often enjoy treating her like a servant. I grabbed Alice and pulled her to the side. We were around the corner so we could listen to what our sister and Sam were talking about.
"Valerie? What in the world are you doing?" asks Alice.
"Did you not notice that Katrina is talking to Sam Golbach?"
"What?!" she exclaimed as she peeked around the corner. They were talking so quietly that we couldn't hear anything. "We need to do something,"
"Let's barge into their conversation, I'm sure Sam won't mind,"
"You got it,"
