Katrina sat in her room writing a song that she wrote a song that was meant to talk about her feelings toward Sam and what she had witnessed. As she wrote her stepmother entered the room looking infuriated. Katrina stopped what she was doing and looked up, her eyes widen as her stepmother made her way over to Kat.

"Am I hearing this right?" says Jessica. "Sam Golbach invited you to a party? And you plan to try out for a recording contract?"

"I mean, yeah?" responded Kat. "What's the problem?"

"That just won't do young lady," immediately, Katrina couldn't believe what she was hearing. She wondered where this was going and what Jessica had planned. "You know why?"

"No, so why don't you enlighten me?"

"I'm leaving for a chateau tonight, and I would like everything cleaned up before I get back."

"But,"

"Don't you dare say anything Katrina, my girls told me what you've been doing," she continued. "Sneaking off at night to go to school and record songs," Jessica grabbed Katrina's song book and ripped it out of her hands. Katrina yelled as she tried to grab the journal, but nothing seemed to work, Jessica had opened the book and flipped through the pages.

"These things fill your head with thoughts, thoughts that I don't allow in this house especially not from you,"

"But that belongs to me!"

"Well, you won't get it because your grounded,"

"What?!"

"You heard me, your grounded so stay away from the party and the try outs," responded Jessica. "And stay away from Sam, after all, Sophia was meant for Sam or even my daughter."

"That's not fair!" exclaims Katrina. "You can't keep me locked away!"

"I just did!" she continued. "Oh, and one other thing," Jessica held up the ticket causing Kat to gasp as Jessica ripped the ticket in two and threw them away. "If you go anywhere near Sam again, I will gladly take away everything you love. I will also kick you out of this house and sell all your belongings," she finished. "Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes, Jessica,"

"Good, now start cleaning," Jessica tossed Katrina the cleaning supplies and Kat started cleaning. Meanwhile, Sam and Colby went to go talk to Tara and Devyn. Colby knew that his friend really needed some help to set things right with him and Kat. He could see that Sam was in love with Kat and that it made him a different person. Sam's plan was full proof, he was going to get Musicash records to come to the party so that she can sing one of her songs.

"Hey!" says Sam as he ran into Tara and Devyn. "Have you guys seen Kat?" Colby followed Sam over hoping that the girls would be able to help.

"Why would you care? Your nothing more than a rich kid who will do anything to break someone's heart," says Tara bitterly.

"Look, I know what Kat saw was bad, but there's a simple explanation,"

"Yeah," says Colby. "Sam would never do such a thing to someone he loved."

"Explain it to us then, Sam," says Devyn as she stepped in. "Why is it, Sophia is at the same Starbucks that you had gone to?"

"I did not expect her to come," defended Sam. "I swear, she just showed up and the next she was all over me," Tara and Devyn looked at Colby waiting for him to give an explanation.

"When Sam met Katrina, he fell in love with her, for real"

"The point is, I'm not a bad guy I just need your help because I want to make it up to Kat."

"How exactly are you going to do that?" asked Tara.

"I know a record company that Kat might truly like, and I've already told them about her they plan to come to my party I'm holding this Friday, you need to help me,"

"How exactly can we help you?" questions Tara.

"Just get Kat to the party, please?" answers Sam.

"Fine," says Devyn. "If it will help cheer Kat up then we'll do it,"

"Thank you!" After their meeting, Sam and Colby set the plan in motion. This Friday was going to be the day that Kat was going to live her dream.

The Night of the Party.

Katrina had been at home working on her chores for a week now. It was slightly peaceful because she didn't have to worry about her entire stepfamily picking on her. In fact, Jessica and her daughters had left together and were going to be back at midnight. She wanted to leave the house, but she knew that if she did then her stepfamily would have probably found a way to catch her. As Kat was vacuuming the living room when she heard the doorbell ring. Confused, she turned the vacuum off and made her way to the front door. Looking through the peep hole she saw Tara and Devyn. Confused, Kat opened the door and saw them standing there. Evidently Devyn was carrying something in her arms. Not wanting to leave them outside, Kat let them in hoping to understand what was going on.

"What are you guys doing here?"

"We came to get you for the party,"

"I can't go, I've been grounded, and my stepfamily is supposed to be back tonight,"

"More likely, they'll probably go to the party too," says Devyn. "If they do then they will be jealous because your there and you are so in love with Sam,"
"I am not," defended Kat. "Besides, he's got a girlfriend," Tara and Devyn looked at each other and laughed.

"Seriously?" says Devyn. "He hates Sophia,"

"What?" says Kat. "But I saw them kissing,"

"It was a ploy," responds Tara. "Your stepsisters set you up for this so you would lose all your confidence and they could have Sam to themselves,"

"Whatever," continued Kat. "But what's with the bag,"

"It's your costume,"

"I'm sorry what?"

"Your going to that party,"

"You know I can't!" says Kat. "I just told you!"

"Just look at the outfit?" knowing that she couldn't argue with her friends, Kat politely took the costume and made her way to her room. The minute she got to her room; her friends had followed her. Opening the bag, Kat pulled out a beautiful blue dress with space designs on it.

"This is beautiful!"

"I'm so glad you like it!" say Tara.

"Tara and I made it specifically for you, nowtry it on and we will get you ready for the party!"
