Sam Golbach had gone to the local high school where he would be alone to think about everything that had happened even trying to do his homework. He would have told his father, but his father barely even spent time with him. Sam Golbach was deep in thought and passing by the recording studio when he heard a soft voice singing. Quietly, Sam walked in and listened to the singer.

Thunder

One foot on the ground, one six feet under

'cause the shit that we do makes me wonder

In all this vanity, define sanity.

Going nowhere

Never slowing down, never sober

At the end of the world we're hungover

In all this vanity, define sanity

Numb, I wish that I could say I'm feeling something

But all I really know is feeling nothing.

Sam continued to listen to the girl's voice as he was now more in love than when he was with Sophia. Sam was dying so much to find out who that voice belonged to. But as he got closer the cellphone rang causing him to jump in fright. Realizing that it was his phone, he quickly grabbed it and walked out of the studio. At the exact moment, Sam walked out, Kat finished recording her song and saw the time.

"Guys! We got to get back to my house,"

"What why?" asks Devyn. "You sounded amazing Kat,"

"Yes, but I would like to get home before my stepfamily wakes up,"

"Alright fine," packing everything in the bags, the three friends walked out of the studio and ran to Devyn's car. Upon arriving at her car, they got in and Devyn drove Kat home. Not realizing that they had left behind one valuable item behind. Her song book.

"Colby, you will not believe what I just heard,"

"Sam? Where are you?"

"I'm at the school,"

"What are you doing there?"

"Thinking to myself. But dude! I heard someone sing and she sounded amazing,"

"Really?"

"Yes,"

"Did you get a name?"

This conversation continued for a while now until Colby and Sam hung up. Once they hung up, Sam walked back into the studio and went to go find the girl he heard singing. When she was nowhere to be found, Sam walked into the recording booth and saw that something was sitting on a music stand. Curiously, he walked over to it and picked the notebook up. On it was a bunch of song lyrics that he couldn't believe someone could have written. Wondering if the person had a name, he began searching for it. However, he could not find anything that told him the owner's name. Which was perfectly fine since he could easily try to find the owner at school the next morning.

Though, now that he was exhausted, he left the building and made his way back to his car. Opening the car door, Sam got in and drove home. He made sure to keep the book next to him in the passenger's seat and hide it from his father and his ex-girlfriend. At least he could keep it hidden until he could find the owner.

Kat had finally arrived home just in time to get into her room and into the bed. She had been getting good at sneaking in and out of the house. But as far as she's concerned, her stepfamily wouldn't care what happened to her. Their only concern was to make sure her life was miserable. It was right around two in the morning by the time she had gotten home and she had quickly changed into her night clothes and hid her regular clothes in a drawer. The minute she dosed off she started to have a strange dream.

Kat had been sitting in a music recording studio. Not just any recording studio but Hollywood arts. The place was beautiful, and she couldn't help but feel that she belonged there. Next to her stood a boy. Not just any boy, but Sam Golbach, the one she had met at the mall. Her mouth dropped open as she was taken aback. He was sitting next to her writing something down, then immediately, they locked eyes. Sam and Kat were about to lean into each other...

Suddenly, Kat's alarm went off causing her to bolt awake and fall off her bed with a groan. She didn't even land on her rug. She had landed on her concrete floor with a painful drop. Grabbing her phone, she looked at the time and saw that it was five in the morning. She was supposed to get ready for school and she was also supposed to make breakfast for her stepfamily. Knowing that they would only make her late, she got dressed and packed her school bag. Once she was done, she made her way into the kitchen and started cooking breakfast the exact moment that her steps had came downstairs.
