Chapter 4: Misunderstood

Niko: Jesus it's past 1am again..
Shindou: you deprive yourself of sleep too much.
Niko: Sorry! I just can't sleep!
Shindou: *sighs* on to the story.

Tenma's POV

I felt better today. The doctor said that my fever had gone down and that I could go back to school. I could play soccer with everyone again! When I got to school I was greeted by Shinsuke and Aoi. We talked as we walked in until something flew past me and barely missed my head. I looked back to see a knife dig into the wall. "O-oh my Irene I am so so sorry you're not hurt are you!?" The Niko person came up to us and took the knife. "Still a bullseye tho.." she mumbled smiling. She looked at me again and bowed and ran off. When we got to the club everyone looked frightened. Even Tsurugi, and that was rare! I asked what happened but no one responded... we then heard a gunshot. "OH DEAR COD! NO NO NO THIS ISN'T GOOD!!"  We heard a shout and went to see what it was. "Stay back criminal scum or I'll cut ya!" Niko was standing cornered, knife in hand ready to slice. She threw the knife and the thing disappeared. She then looked at us. "Y-you k-killed him" Shindou stuttered. Niko gulped. "This is not my day is it?" She said smiling. She waved goodbye and walked away. I felt guilty but then realized something. If that was a human, wouldn't the body still be there!? I looked at everyone and shouted. "IF THAT WAS A HUMAN THEN WHERE'S THE BODY!?" Everyone looked at me. "Tenma's right." Said Tsurugi. They all looked around. I couldn't help but wonder what Niko was doing with a knife though. We then heard some chatter from outside. "*sigh* ok.. here's your money. Now SCRAM!" It was Niko. "Honestly. How damn rude." And she just walked away. "Why don't we all train?" Asked coach Endou. We all nodded and cheered as we headed to the pitch. *click* I looked around. What was that sound? I looked back to hear Shinsuke shout my name. *CRASH* The ball hit me right in the face. "TENMA!" Shouted Shinsuke. I couldn't help but feel my left cheek swelling and my eyes fill with tears as I tried to stand. *click click* This time I wasn't the only one to hear the clicks. Tsurugi did too. "I'll bring him to the infirmary." Tsurugi said. He helped me up and we started to walk. "You heard that sound too... right Tsurugi?" I asked curiously. He nodded. *click click* it sounded like goggles... "Agent 8!!!" Shouted ??? "Hmm? Oh hey 4" replied 'Agent 8'
Agent 4: where ya headin to?
Agent 8: ah.. nowhere really. Just explorin
Agent 4: can I come?!
Agent 8: fine. But be good!
Agent 4: Roger that!
The conversation was odd... and I wanted to go over when I saw '8' wearing goggles. *click* "tightening them again!?" Asked 4. 8 just nodded and they started walking. When me and Tsurugi got to the infirmary I felt a lot of pain in my head. What's going on!? The pain started getting worse and worse. I put my hands on my head and put my back to the wall. "You ok Tenma?" Tsurugi asked. "My head hurts..." I replied. "WATCH OUT!!!"
Agent 4: 8!!! You almost hit him!!!!
Agent 8: *click* my sincerest apologies...
Tenma: a-a knife!?
Tsurugi: why do you...?
Agent 4: Target practice! *pointing at the dart board behind Tenma*
Agent 8: That would've be a bullseye too....
Agent 4: Are you really that heartless!? You didn't even ask if he was ok!!!
Tenma: no it's fine!
Agent 8: *click* you sure?
Tenma: what's with the clicks!?
Agent 8: my goggles. I'm making sure they don't fall off.
Agent 4: You and your damn goggles!!!!

The argument was strange... but it was also full of passion... they're close friends. I can tell. "Sorry for the trouble Tenma." Agent 8 apologized. "How do you know my name!?" I asked. "Agent 8 here is also the one you call 'Niko" Agent 4 smiled. "EH!?" I looked at Niko and then at Tsurugi. WHAT IS HAPPENING!?!?
Niko: And we'll leave it there.
Tenma: What!? Why!?
Niko: took too long and my head hurts.
Tsurugi: you're tired.
Niko: I know that!
Agent 4: Hey!!! 8!
Niko: 4!?
Agent 4: 8!!! I knew I'd find you!!! *hugs*
Niko: but how?
Agent 4: well... I asked 3...
Niko: 3 KNOWS I'M HERE!?
Tenma: what's going on?
Niko: Nevermind!! Stay Fresh everyone!!
