Man On Fire

Stefan is sitting down flipping through pages when I walked  over carrying breakfast in my left hand and baby Zack in my right. Miranda was with Damon for the day.

"Breakfast, Professor Salvatore?" I say. Stefan looked up and smiled at me.

"Oh,No,No,No,No. I see what you're doing." He gets Zack from me

"What am I doing?" I sat across from him and put the plate on the table.

"Distraction tactics. Stay focused.  So psychology, sociology, and anthropology share the assumption that...."

"Scientific methods can be used to understand. Human behavior." I say then took a sip of my coffee.

"That's very good, as in verbatim, which means that I need to ask you more difficult questions." I chuckled. Zack started crying. "Did you-" I hand him the bottle

"Pumped before we came." He smiled. Stefan has been a good dad to Zack. There were times he was even better then Damon. The way he looked at Zack with so much love in his eyes. "Thank you."

"For what?"

"Helping me study the day after Damon declared that we can't be friends and that he never wants to see my face again. Which is stupid because him and I have Miranda together. Speaking of distracting tactics."

"You're welcome. And leave Damon to me I'll handle him." Stefan says as he burped Zack

"Hey." Bonnie says as she walked over to us. "Sorry I'm late. What did I miss?" She sits next to me

"Just that stefan's a tutor from hell." I say and he laughed

"Unkind. Take that back." I laughed then looked at Bonnie." Actually, I'm surprised that you're up for studying, you know, considering..."

"Considering?"

"The other side..... Falling apart. She's in denial."

"So I see."

"I'm not in denial. The other side is disintegrating. As the anchor to the other side, I'm only alive as long as there is an other side. I'm perfectly aware of the threat of my impending death. There is nothing I can do about it. It's called acceptance, 5th stage of grief coma look it up, Tutor Guy."

"Definitely in denial." Stefan says

"Yeah. Look, Bonnie. I've already lost you once. We're not doing this again. It's not an option, ok? Not to mention what's gonna happen Alaric and your grams and everyone else over there. So what are we gonna do?"

"Fine. If you guys promise to stop hovering, I'll ask Liv if she has any witchy idea's. Besides, don't we have bigger problems with those Travelers trying to take over Mystic Falls?"

"Oh, No. Damon's already on that." Stefan says

"He is? He has Miranda."

"Did I say Damon? What I meant to say was George." Bonnie looked confused

"Damon said that he never wanted to see me again." I say

"He did? How is that possible? You and him have a daughter-"

"It's Damon." Stefan says.

Jeremy lifts up the couch

"Ugh! Whose nasty ass boxers are under the couch?" He says as he kicked them

"Not mine. I actually do my laundry." Matt says as he walked into the room." It's not in the floor safe."

"Or the kitchen cabinets or the garage or the bookshelves. The traveler knife is gone."

"Are you sure Tyler hid it where he said he did?"
