Chapter-4
Sav’s POV
Second day of school
And I’m lazy to walk over to there already. I inhaled the crisp Bradford morning air, only to find my nose blocked. Great! Absolutely dandy!
I inhaled through my mouth and walked to my bathroom to brush and freshen up. I walked out drying my hair with a towel to my balcony to enjoy the breeze for a bit. That’s when I remembered that Zayn had come over. I looked through his open windows for any sign of him, but all I saw were his cream colored curtains swishing in the wind.
I walked in and threw the towel in the hamper and headed to the kitchen to fix up my breakfast. I toasted a piece of bread and scrambled some eggs. I stood on my tippy-toes to reach for the coffee bottle on the cupboard and brewed up a steamy cup of coffee.
I rushed to the door with my book bag and opened it to see Zayn standing there positioning to ring the doorbell. My eyes widened on seeing him and I said, “Good morning! You want something?”
“Morning, just wanted to ask if you wanted a ride to school?”He paused for a minute as I took in what he proposed. “I mean it’s totally understandable if you don’t wanna..you know…I can leave an-“ Before he could finish his rant, I took his arm and pulled us to the car. Zayn had this look on his face, but I ignored it. He opened the passenger door for me and I smiled widely at him. I think I have a new best friend in the making.
My phone suddenly rang with a FaceTime call. I dished out my phone from my bag and checked it out. It was Varun. His profile picture immediately caused a bright grin to appear on my face. I fixed my hair a bit and clicked answer
“Heeeeeeyyy!!!! How was first day of school??!!” Varun screamed into the phone.
“V, shut up, I can hear you very well…And first day of school was awesome, you’ll never believe; I made almost 10 friends here on the FIRST DAY! Can you imagine!!” I said to the phone whose screen showed my best friend since birth
“Wow! Had your breakfast properly, right?” He asked.
“Haan, baba! (yes)” I said chuckling slightly. I heard a throat clear beside me and I totally forgot I was with Zayn…in HIS car!
“Ugh, so silly of me!” I muttered and hit myself on my head and continued into the phone, “Meet the first friend I made here, Zayn Malik” I said and turned the phone towards the drivers’ side so that Varun could see his face. Zayn took his eyes off the road for a moment and turned to give a cheeky smile to the camera and said, “Nice to meet you, man!” and continued his safe driving
“Take care of my girl, alright?” Varun said in a protective tone and I just rolled my eyes.
Zayn just chuckled and gave a tight lipped smile to me.
“I gotta go yaar! We reached school, bye! Call you later!!” I said and blew a kiss at the camera.
“Bye! Love you Sav!” and he hung up
The car came to a stop and I placed my phone back in my bag and turned to open the door. To my utter surprise, I found it open and Zayn standing outside holding it. I gave him a hesitant smile and stepped out, smoothing out the creases in my top.
We walked to our class together which was Chemistry. There were two vacant seats in the class. One was in the front and there was no way I was gonna be sitting there. I shot a smile at Zayn and walked to the vacant one in the back of the class, near a petite blonde girl. She looked up from her seat and smiled at me.
“You must be the new Indian girl! Hi I’m Perrie; Perrie Edwards” She smiled and brought her hand forward. She was a very cheery kind of person, it seemed. She had this contagious smile and perfect teeth
