"Yeah we ran through the place with an EMF meter found some activity and ectoplasm." The black haired man's eyes widened at the words, he knew that whatever was doing this was a vengeful spirit but he wasn't aware of exactly what he was dealing with. He gave a nod turning to glance around the apartment trying to get the basic layout of the place.
"What are we going to do now then?" Daniel asked the both of them, quickly they decided that it would be the right thing to do if they got a room at a motel near by so they could investigate more. The three of them made their way out of the apartment walking through the halls till they heard voices, Danny watched as a blonde rounded the corner with who he assumed was the hotel manager.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Dean asked causing the black haired hunter to stare in confusion as the blonde sauntered over to the three of them, playing off what Dean had previously said to her.
"There you are honey," The blonde said intertwining their arms together, she glanced at Sam before staring at me confused. "This is my boyfriend Dean and his friends."
"Oh nice to meet you," The manager said with a smile as he shook Dean's hand. "Quite the girl you got there."
"Yeah she's a pistol." Dean got out through gritted teeth as he yanked his arm away from her, the blonde gave him an annoyed look.
"So did you check out the apartment yet," She asked as we all just stared confused. "The one for rent."
"Yes, yes loved it great flow." Dean played it off easily as the manager stared confused, that was when Daniel realised their mistake.
"How'd you get in?" He asked while Dean looked like a deer in the head lights for a few moments.
"It was open." Danny said quickly the manager went to speak only to be cut off by the blonde asking questions about the previous owners, which he happily lied about. The woman payed for the apartment making her way to it on her own, while the three boys went to grab the weapons that they would need for the case packing them into bags. Sam grabbed the Winchester's bag while Danny swung his over his shoulder however he didn't get far before Dean came over taking the bag from him.
"I can carry it." Danny told him slightly confused as to why Dean had taken it away in the first place, the other hunter just laughed it off.
"No its fine I want to help." He told the other with a small smile as he ushered the shorter man into the building who followed not wanting to question it, they made there way back to the apartment together entering to see the blonde at the table with Sam. Dean placed the bag down on the table for me as he picked up a gun checking the ammo on it.
"I'll flip you for the sofa." She said, Danny didn't know what it was about her but she just seemed to leave a bad taste in the hunters mouth. Dean looked annoyed at the girls antics scoffing as he continued to fiddle with the gun.
"Does your mom even know your here?" The oldest hunter asked staring her down, this time it was her turn to scoff.
"Told her I was going to Vegas." Danny at this point got boarded of the conversation and began to look around the place in more detail as he made his way around he spotted a vent. It didn't seem like much at first however that was until the light hit something black, as soon as the hunter noticed it he bent down pressing a finger into the liquid. Ectoplasm. Still bending down he tried to look into the vent for any other signs, at one point Danny thought he heard something but chalked it up to rats in the end. There was footsteps approaching the still crouched down man causing him to look up meeting the intrigued eyes of Dean, the black haired man held up his black stained finger.
"More?" Dean asked as the other man got up walking over to the table after giving a nod in response, he moved the Winchesters bag and his own before bending down to grab the plans of the building out of his bag. Quickly, he spread them out for everyone to see them the others gathered around the plan.
"This place was built in 1964 as a warehouse however a few months ago it was turned into a apartment complex," Danny told the rest of the group, the brothers were listening intently while the blonde whose name he still didn't know just played with a knife. "I looked back at the history before the factory and there was nothing."
"What do you mean nothing ?" Dean asked softly staring at the plans intently trying to study every inch of them.
"Up until 1964 it was an empty field," Danny said with a sigh as the two met eyes. "That's what I didn't understand there was no serious accidents here either at least not anything that would result in a spirit like this." Dean went to go speak again only to stop himself, looking up to meet eyes with the blonde woman again.
"Jo," He said with an annoyed voice clearly trying to keep calm. "Would you put the knife down." Danny turned to watch as, Jo put her knife down with a roll of the eyes leaving an awkward feel to the room.
"I was thinking that maybe there might be a cursed object somewhere in the building so we'd have to scan the whole building," The young hunter told them trying to lessen the tension in the room.
"Great I'll take the top two floors," Dean announced before turning to Jo with an irritated look. "You'll come with me."
"We'd cover more ground if we split up." Jo protested while Danny was done with everything about this situation, he didn't know what was happening and quite frankly he didn't care. He just wanted to do figure out what was happening here and save more innocent girls from being hurt or worse. Quickly, Danny moved to grab his EMF meter from his duffel bag slipping it into his pocket.
"I'll take our floor." He said making it to the door annoyance clear in his voice as he walked out.
"Danny!" Dean shouted out to him, but the other man didn't listen only slamming the door behind him as he left.
Taking out the EMF meter he began to scan it along the walls checking for any kind of difference in the reading, he stopped at a sudden spike on the meter. When looking along the wall it was the vent that stood out to him again, as slow as possible the hunter moved the meter down to the vent running it over the metal grating and watching the meter spike. Then suddenly it was gone within seconds, the black haired mans eyes widened as he came to the realisation about this thing. It was using the vents, moving between the walls he knew in that moment that he needed to get back the the apartment and take a look at the floor plans.
