Chapter 17

Prem panicked, he was about to be exposed. But he knew what to do.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you" he said pulling away from Arjun's clasp. "I see you're here with Elina, how's she going?" Prem grinned viciously.
"I had to bring her she's part of the project we're currently working on" Arjun couldn't believe that this was being used against him. He didn't want Aashi to hear about Elina.

"What's going on Prem?" Aashi was confused and this tension and anger between Prem and Arjun made her head hurt. She didn't like conflict. She looked visibly worried and both Arjun and Prem noticed.

"Aashi are you okay?" Arjun approached and touched her cheek. His touch felt so familiar. She didn't want to pull away but she noticed that Prem was becoming uncomfortable and she didn't want him to feel that way. She brushed Arjun away and went to stand by Prem.

"I'm fine, I remember you from the hospital. Who are you? Why are you attacking Prem?" Aashi asked taking Prems arm protectively.

"No reason just a misunderstanding" Arjun said trying to suppress his anger and heart break seeing her holding his arm and standing beside him like they were a couple. He turned to walk away and Elina approached them breaking free from a conversation she was having with an investor.

"Oh hello Aashi" she said sweetly.

"Hello, do you I know?" This lady looked very familiar to Aashi too. But it was not a comfortable familiarity - she made her feel angry.

"I'm Elina. I'm Arjun's partner" she winked. Elina meant business partner but she didn't want to specify that. Aashi could believe what she wanted. Before Arjun could correct her Prem interceded.

"We should get going now, nice to see you both but Aashi is getting tired" he quickly guided Aashi away. She looked back at Arjun and felt sad walking away from him. The feeling couldn't be explained. What was going on?
