He had a butterfly drawn on his wrist.
Hali couldn't believe his eyes. Solar, his longtime rival, has a butterfly drawn on his wrist.
How childish is that?
The butterfly was elegantly drawn, as if someone had really taken the time to draw it. It was also colorful, with yellow and silver adorning its wings.
It was beautiful, but it didn't lessen the childishness.
At least it wasn't a tattoo.
Hali felt a smirk adorn his face as he looked at his rival who was glaring hard at him.
"A butterfly, huh? I didn't know you were such a childish girl, Solar," he said mockingly.
Hali had expected him to blush in embarassment, or at least, lash out to him in anger.
But he did not expect the sudden appearance of tears in Solar's golden eyes.
"Be thankful it wasn't you," Solar whispered as he stomped away towards his room.
Hali just rolled his eyes at the direction of the light elemental.
He would soon regret the words that came out of his mouth.

Solar slammed the door to his room and locked it behind him. He was breathing heavily, his mind reeling on his latest conversation with Halilintar.
A butterfly, huh? I didn't know you were such a childish girl, Solar.
The first sob erupted from his mouth and he bit his right fist to muffle it. His eyes fell on the innocent little butterfly lying on his wrist.
...such a childish girl...
Solar furiously scrubbed the butterfly off his wrist until the skin looked red and ink-free. His eyes then landed on his most prized possession that was lying on his table, as if waiting for him.
No one would miss me anyway, Solar thought as he grabbed the knife on the table and proceeded to slash his wrist.
It was Hali who found him the next day, lying on the pool of his own blood.

When you have the urge to cut yourself, draw a butterfly in that place instead.
The butterfly represents the thing that you care about the most.
If you let the butterfly fade by itself after a few days, it means that you let the butterfly grow beautifully and that you're ready to move on.
If you forcibly removed the butterfly, it means that you've given up hope.
If you cut over the butterfly, it means that you've killed the butterfly and didn't give it a chance to grow.
If you want to know more, read about the butterfly project on the internet.
Lovelots,
Els-Glace, the Queen of Aren-Angst.
(P.S. I wrote this while I was waiting in line for the ticket. I just wasn't able to publish it because (1) I was at the mall and I don't have enough data, and (2), I was too tired to do so last night.
(P.P.S. I just watched Frozen 2 yesterday. It was awesome. And can I just say that Elsa is drop dead gorgeous?)
(P.P.P.S. I'll probably make a story about Ice because of that movie xD)
