In the forest was the swordsman and the albino walking together in bits of silence. Once in a while Mafu would get excited over the simplest and smallest things. The many times Soraru had tried calming the angel down was quite alot for only a single day outside.
The weather was really nice outside though, and that usually puts Soraru in a good mood. So he didin't really mind the albino getting over excited. But it was interesting to him to watch Mafu acting like a young child.
"Soraru-san look!" He smiled.
"What is it?"
Mafu smiled brightly before holding up a clear white crystal in his hand.
"It's a crystal! Isint it cool?"
Soraru smiled a little, "Yeah it is, where did you find it?""It was right... In here!"
Soraru looked at where the angel was showing him and saw the cave they were looking for.
"Nice, that's actually the place we were supposed to look for."
Mafu tilted his head as he stared at him, "Really? I guess I got distracted~"
Soraru cracked a smile bit before looking away from the albino before he could see."We should start heading in."
"Yep~! I'll make sure to watch your back!" Mafu said as he held up his scythe tightly. Soraru nodded before walking inside with him. It was dark, yet it felt so welcoming in a way the crystals slowly became visible.Though Soraru couldn't lie, he was a little worried that the angel could take his head at any moment. But, everytime he looked behind him, Mafu was just distracted by the glittering crystals around them.
As they kept on walking, the two arrived at a special area. Everything around felt sacred. It held small ruins sorrounding them. The crystals were next to the tiny pond, and the smaller crystals above them looked like stars glittering on the dark ceiling.
Mafu looked around amazed at how a cave held something so beautiful. Then he looked at the swordsman who was kneeling down to pick up some of the crystals on the ground.
"How come you didin't get the one's before this place?" Mafu asked as he kept watching the male infront of him.
"Cause, they hold something special." He explained. The angel crossed his arms before wondering, "What does it hold that makes it so special?" He asked. Soraru smirked before standing up while placing the crystals in his bag."I can't tell you, it's a secret." He said, keeping the same smirk on his face.
"Why?"
"Cause just cause we trust you, dosent mean that we trust you enough to tell you something so important." He explained. Mafu nodded before turning to look at the small ruins. As interested he was, he knew better than to do something the swordsman wouldn't allow. So he stayed put while watching the other picking up more crystals before his ruby eyes had met the other's sapphire one's. It was an awkward silence seeing that they held their gaze."You know you don't have to keep staring at me." Soraru said as he stood up.
"I-I know I was just curious to see what crystals you were collecting!" The albino replied quickly before looking away, hiding the small blush of embarrassment from the swordsman.Soraru gave a small smile before speaking, "Well you can help if you want." Mafu looked back at him before nodding while returning the smile.
While the two picked up crystals, they spent their time happily. Mafu wasn't doing anything that annoyed the swordsman, while Soraru on the other hand was surpised to see the albino not trying to kill him. As he thought about it, Mafu was a little fun to hang around with. Yes he may act like a child from time from time but in a good way. And from time to time Mafu would sometimes see Soraru having a small smile on his face as he would look at the water. Honestly, the albino found the swordsman to be interesting to interact with. Yes he was silent most times and serious but Mafu can see that the swordsman can keep his words.
He then found a blue shining crystal from the ground and turned to look at Soraru before smiling.
"Hey Soraru-san, look!"
After hearing his name he turned around to the albino before walking towards him, "Another crystal?"
"Yep! Except it has the same pretty blue color like your eyes!" Mafu explained while having a wide smile.
Soraru stared at him before staring at the crystal with a blank expression, "Ok then?"Mafu slowly shook his head before looking at him with the same wide smile, "Silly Soraru-san~ I want you to have it!" He exclaimed happily as he gently grabbed one of the swordsman's hands and placed the blue crystal in it before letting go.
Soraru stared at the crystal before turning away to look in his bag, "What are you looking for Soraru-san?" The angel asked as he tilted his head. But then his hand was gently held by the sapphire eyed male.
"Cause then I want you to have this, it wouldn't be fair for me to only have one. Sides, it matches your eyes." He explained calmly as he gently placed the red crystal in the angel's hand. As he let go he stared at the albino seeing a bit of pink tinted in his cheeks.
"You ok?"
"I-Im fine!" Mafu exclaimed as he looked away before looking at the crystals on the ground.
"We should keep collecting crystals" The albino said before facing back at the swordsman infront of him.
"Yeah, your right." Soraru responded. But before they could, a loud sound could be heard from behind them.
Before the both of them could question anything, Soraru quickly grabbed Mafu's hand before they both hid behind a large rock. They kept quiet as they saw some soldiers along with two figures with them. The two of them had red hair except one had black armor as the other wore a black robe with a cross.
Mafu and Soraru watched closely but the albino was deadly silent.
"Sakata... And.. Araki..?"
