"Another round."

"Where are they putting all this stuff?" The bartender grinned at Steve as he moved to fill up their glasses.

"See, I told you," Bucky grinned as Steve made his was over to him and Brody. "They're all idiots." The man took a long sip of his drink, Brody laughing as he shook his head.

"How about you two?" Steve took a seat between the brothers, looking to Brody. "You ready to follow Captain America into the jaws of death?"

"Hell, I'd follow you just about anywhere, Cap." Brody gave a soft smile to the blond, the latter squeezing his shoulder softly.

"Hell no," Bucky spoke up with a chuckle as Steve's gaze snapped to him. "That little guy from Brooklyn who was too dumb not to run away from a fight. I'm following him." The two shared a nod. "But you're keeping the outfit, right?" Brody let out a fit of laughter as Steve pursed his lips.

"You know, it's kind of growing on me."

"God, I hope not," Brody continued to smile as he took a sip of his drink.

"Well I'm gonna go before I start turning invisible like you two idiots." Bucky grinned, ruffling Brody's hair as he went.

"What do you think of all this? This Captain stuff?" Steve asked him softly, tapping his fingers on the bar.

"I think you're finally getting to do what you love," Brody told him softly. "I think it's amazing. But now me and Bucky have to watch your ass out there."

"I think I'm learning to handle myself."

"That you are, Captain. I just want you to be safe though. You never know what could happen." The brunet looked down at his glass as he frowned. "I mean, I never thought Buck and I would-" He coughed lightly shaking his head. "You just can never prepare for what it's like out there."

"Are you okay?" Steve asked, resting his hand on Brody's forearm as the boy shook his head.

"I don't know. Doesn't it feel," he trailed off shrugging his shoulders. "Strange to you? Why keep us in a lab and shoot all kinds of stuff into us, just to leave?" Brody shook his head. "I'm just being paranoid. It was hard being there."

"You're safe now though," Steve smiled softly at Brody. "Cause I saved both you and Bucky."

A loud laugh escaped the Barnes boy, shaking his head. "You're never going to let me forget that now, are you?"

"Oh no chance." The two shared laughs as they drank, and that feeling was back in Brody's chest.

That stupid damn feeling he got every time he looked at Steve for a little too long. The way his heart would speed up, and his smile would last just a second longer. That stupid feeling he only got around Steve Rogers.

"Remember when I made you and Brody ride the cyclone at Coney Island?" Bucky asked Steve with a wide grin on his face. The three were looking out over the icy mountains at the long zip line connecting to the train tracks, waiting for HYDRA's train to come speeding by. For the past weeks they had all been fighting tooth and nail against the Germans to try and win the war.

"Yeah, and I threw up on Jace's shoes." Brody's laugh filled the cold air at the memory, remembering how embarrassed Steve had been.

"This isn't payback is it?"

"It should be," Brody grinned at his brother. "Those were my favorite shoes."

"We were right. Dr. Zola's on the train. Hydra dispatcher gave him permission to open up the throttle. Wherever he's going, they must need him bad." Gabe called to the three, hunched over a radio with Morita.

At that the soldiers all shared a nod moving toward the zip line in anticipation.

"Let's get going, because they're moving like the devil," Falsworth called as he dropped his binoculars.

"We only got about a ten-second window. You miss that window, we're bugs on a windshield," Steve shouted over the howling wing.

"Mind the gap."

"Better get going bugs," Dugan chuckled.

"Maintenant," Dernier shouted as Steve went down the line. Then it was Bucky, with Brody following soon after. One by one the three friends all dropped on top of the train, quickly moving to get on the inside.

Bucky and Brody both had their guns drawn, following slowly behind Steve. The blond moved into a different train compartment, the door slamming shut behind him and separating him from the brothers.

"Shit," Brody grumbled as he and Bucky moved behind the large boxes in the room. Two shooters aiming at them as they tried to get a shot.

Bullets were ricocheting all throughout the cart, Brody barely ducking out of the way a few times.

"Got one," he called to Bucky as he watched one of the men fall down.

"I'm out," Bucky yelled from the other side of the cart. Brody mumbled a string of curses to himself, moving towards his brother to try and get a shot.

However the door to the other cart opened, Steve quickly rushing out and tossing Bucky a gun. The elder Barnes fired one shot, the man falling to the ground.

"I had him on the ropes," Bucky grinned at Steve.

"I know you did." Suddenly a machine like android aimed a gun at the three, the large blue lasers lighting up the carts. "Look out," Steve shouted as he pushed the two out of the way and blocked the blast with his shield. It left a large hole in the side of the train, part of it falling off the tracks.

Bucky continued to shoot at the machine, grabbing Steve's shield for protection. Only after it sent a blast his way he went flying off the train.

"Bucky!" Brody screamed, rushing to the side of the train where his brother had just gone. His heart was hammering in his chest, tears instantly springing to his eyes as he saw Bucky hanging off the side of the train. "Hold on," the younger Barnes quickly climbed onto the side, inching closer to his brother. "I got you, Buck. I got you."

"Brody, be careful." He heard Steve shouting over the roaring wind as he climbed out of the train as well.

"No." Brody yelled once again seeing the bar Bucky was holding onto start to bend.

"Brody whatever you're thinking about doing, don't you dare." Steve glared heatedly at the boy as he watched his brother start to fall, knowing Brody to be impulsive and reckless.

The blue eyed boy looked back at Steve, tears pouring down his face as he forced a smile.

"Please don't forget about us."

With that Brody let go as well, falling right after his brother. His heart aching as he fell, his mind racing as he tried to find peace. If he was going out beside his brother, that's the way he wanted to go.

All while the sound of Steve screaming his name echoed through his head. And the longing of wishing he'd confessed his feelings weighed heavy in his chest.

Although once the boy hit the ground his world didn't go dark. Even though there was extreme agony in his leg and his wrist, he was still breathing. And someone was dragging him through the snow, a trail of blood staining it through his wake.
