Brody used all of his willpower left to convince himself he wasn't suffocating from the restraints.

Thick metal trapped him inside the glass pod, unable to move even an inch as they transported him to a holding facility. He had no clue where Steve was, Bucky in a similar pod next to him, only the dark walls boxing them in.

Bucky could see Brody struggling against the restraints, the soldier felt as if he were trapped, memories that he had choked down resurfacing as he continued to struggle.

Suddenly, the metal doors slid open, a man with a briefcase slowly entering the room as he curiously looked at the two.

"Hello, Mr. Barnes." He nodded to them both, taking calculating steps toward the containment pods. "I've been sent by the United Nations to evaluate you. Do you mind if I sit?" He took a seat in front of the two, the metal scraping across the ground shrilly. "Your first name is James? And yours Jason?"

"That's not my name," Brody uttered unintelligibly under his breath as his eyes screwed shut.

"I'm not here to judge you. I just want to ask you a few questions. Do you know where you are, James? I can't help you, either of you, if you don't talk to me, Jason."

"My name is Bucky," he gruffly replied, not meeting the man's eyes.

Brody had yet to open his mouth, eyes still shut as he softly shook his head.

"Are you alright, Jason?" The man rose an eyebrow at him.

"Not here," Brody continued to mutter. "Not here. Not here. Not here."

"Tell me, you both have seen a great deal haven't you?"

"We don't want to talk about it."

"You two fear that, if you open your mouth, the horrors might never stop. Don't worry. You'll only have to talk about one."

Brody's eyes snapped open as the lights overhead turned off, his panicked eyes training on the unknown man in front of him.

"What the hell is this?" Bucky glared, a red light now flashing in the cell.

"Why don't we discuss your home? Not Romania. Certainly not Brooklyn, no. I mean, your real home, boys."

Brody let out a gasp as he saw the man pull out a small red book with a star engraved on the front, thrashing harder as the man before him suddenly became recognizable.

"No," Brody pleaded as he felt the metal begin to bruise his wrists. "Please, no."

"Longing," the man then looked to Brody. "Copper."

Brody flinched at the word, his body tending as he shook his head.

"Rusted. Tracker."

"Please," Brody echoed. "Please."

"Seventeen. Dusk. Daybreak. Blitz. Furnace. Nightmare. Nine. Eighty."

Brody let a scream rip from his chest as he pulled against the restraints, panic violently growing in his chest as they became loose.

"Redwood. Benign. Copper. Homecoming. Blizzard. One. Boxcar. Freight car."

With a final act of strength, Brody kicked out the glass, ripping through the restraints as an odd sense of calmness took over his features.

"Soldiers?"

Brody looked down at his hand, flipping it over to observe the metal as he rolled his shoulders.

"Ready to comply."

"Mission report. December 16, 1991."

Steve Rogers sprinted through the compound, Sam Wilson hot on his heels as they raced to where Bucky and Brody were being held.

The Captain, upon entering the room, pulled Zemo off of the ground and pinned him to the wall.

"Who are you? What do you want?"

"To see an empire fall."

Bucky threw his fist at Sam, Brody kicking Steve's legs out from underneath him. The sudden attack took both of the Avengers off-guard, Steve stumbling backward to try and avoid Brody's swings.

The blond ducked, avoiding one of the soldier's kick, only for another to hit him square in the chest and send him down the elevator shaft behind him.

Brody didn't wait to finish the man off, following after Bucky as they looked for an escape.

Soldiers from SHIELD littered the building, Brody gritting his teeth as he fought off the men.

An almost familiar red headed woman rushed toward him, sending a kick toward his face that he easily blocked. Her foot bounced off the metal of his hand, moving instead to slam the back of her fist into his jaw.

She used her momentum to wrap her legs around his neck, throwing herself backward to bring them both to the ground.

Brody twisted his body roughly, gaining the upper hand so he was towering over the woman, his hand wrapped tightly around her throat.

"I take back what I said," she coughed, "you don't seem cool at all."

Gritting his teeth, he tightened his grasp, taking pleasure in the way her skin was beginning to turn red.

"Nyet," Bucky called, shaking his head.

Brody huffed, but unraveled himself from the woman as he followed his brother toward the exit.

T'Challa leaped in front of the two, Brody not even thinking before he tackled the king down the flight of stairs in front of them. Ignoring the aching he now felt in his ribs, trying to land hits on the man beneath him.

However, T'Challa sent his knee into Brody's jaw, the boy rolling away from him and letting Bucky take his place.

Anger took over the soldier, spitting blood on to the concrete, the red now coating his teeth.

The Black Panther sent a harsh kick to Bucky's chest, the man stumbling back into Brody, sending the two flying over the railing and back to the floor below.

The eldest Barnes quickly pulled Brody up, the two racing toward the nearest exit they could find.

The two climbed the stairs to the roof of the building, kicking open the door and moving to board the helicopter on the launchpad.

As they began to take off, Steve came rushing after them, grabbing onto the edge of the chopper.

The force of the machine dragged him along, hooking his arm into the safety railing of the building as he pulled it back toward the compound.

Bucky turned the helicopter back toward the building, the chopper nose diving and smashing the roof where Steve once stood.

Brody cursed underneath his breath, the rotator blades broken, kicking open his door and placing his feet back on the roof.

He grabbed Steve by the hair, dragging the man to the edge with a cruel grimace, the Avenger struggling in his hold.

Although, the chopper suddenly began to tip, knocking the soldier off the roof and taking Steve and Bucky into the water below alongside him.
