Chapter 1- Best day ever

A/N: Hello everyone its Darakoi once again, Volume 2 of the fire and steel series is finally hear and i just want wanna start this off by first saying one thing, Thank you all for getting volume 1 over 300 views! some people might not see this as a big number but it brings a smile to my face when i see people reading every chapter i'm putting out. I will try my best to stay consistent with publishing chapters for volume 2 but i can't promise anything. Anyway, with that out of the way... lets get volume 2 started! 

No ones pov

The streets of vale. a place that might seem peaceful and quiet by day, but Y/N and his friends know the true darkness that lay in the shadows. the White fang and that orange haired guy are out there and are defiantly planning something. though none of this way bothering Y/N at this moment, only one thing was working him down to the bone at the moment.

Y/N pov

You were at the moment at Cid's store helping out with forging your new weapon, even though he said it would be done by two days it seemed to have taking much longer since a few weeks have passed... few weeks of being useless in combat lessons since you were unarmed, at least you are thankful that Yang was kind enough to let you give her Ember Celica a try, you did make a few holes in the wall by accident but soon you got a hang of how they worked and realised how fun it is to use them. You snapped back to reality from your thoughts as Cid swings down his hammer at the metal piece you were holding and feel the vibrations through your hold body. Cid quickly brings his hammer down once more but this time it slams down close to your hand, making you jump back in shock.

Y/N: "Dear Oum! watch where you are swinging that thing old man!"

Cid: "Oh shut up! i have done this for years, i know how to be careful!"

You reluctantly move back over to Cid and hold down on the metal piece as he continues to slam down on it with his hammer making it soon take a slight curved form. As you two continued working on your weapon you chatted along about your parents, Cid mentions the missions they told him they had gone on and about the mission they saved his life on.

Cid: "So there i was, surrounded by Grimm with only my hammer in hand and a bag of materials next to me. i thought i was a goner until they came, like the wind they slashed through the Grimm until there was nothing more than dust. Got this scar as a memory of that day"

Lifting up his blacksmith apron you see a long scar going over his chest.

Cid: "Your parents were true heroes kid, you better make sure their legacy continues on after you"

Looking up with a puzzled look you raise an eyebrow.

Y/N: "What do you mean continue it after me?"

Cid sighs and puts down his hammer.

Cid: "I mean, take that girlfriend you keep mentioning and longing to go back to at school and put a ring on her finger one day"

You feel your face heat up at the thought of being married to Yang, sure the idea might have gone through your mind now and then but you never thought it was something that you would be able to do. 

Y/N: "How do i know i'm even good enough for her? i'm just a guy that miraculously came back from the dead after his first day in beacon, not to mention that i also have a second person around me 24/7 that only i can see"

You sigh sitting down in a chair next to the forge, you feel Cid pat you lightly on your back and sit down next to you.

Cid: "We all have our problems kid, but don't let that stop you from doing what you want. I'm sure she would still love you even after you tell her about this person in your head."
