Chapter 11- Price for power

After having quickly geared up, you all and the other quickly head out and follow Zwei as seemingly leads you to where Ruby was last seen.

Y/n: "Why did she go off by herself...even Ruby should have known how dangerous that is."

Yang: "Now is not the time to think about that, let's just hope she is alright."

Turning a corner you watch as Zwei walks over to a giant hole. walking over you see Yang run over to Ruby's weapon.

Yang: "Ruby's scythe!"

Blake: "Oh no."

Weiss: "Do you think she fell?"

Y/n: "I mean, that would be the most obvious answer if her weapon is her but she isn't."

Oobleck: "Fell?"

You watch as Doctor Oobleck looks up into the sky, clearly not understanding what Weiss meant.

Weiss: "Down there."

Oobleck: "Oh my. Of course! Of course, OF COURSE, OF COURSE!"

You slowly lean in close to Sapphire as you look at Doctor Oobleck.

Y/n: "Do you think he finally lost it?"

Sapphire simply shrugs as you keep looking at Doctor Oobleck.

Blake: "What is it?"

Oobleck: "How could i be so stupid?"

Yang: "Doctor Oobleck, what's wrong?"

Oobleck slowly walks up and looks down into the hole, a small smirk seemingly appearing on his face as he seems to come to a conclusion.

Oobleck: "Mountain Glenn! Yes, an expansion of Vale that was inevitably destroyed by creatures of Grimm! Previously home to thousands of people! Working people commuting to the city, the main city! Developed a subway system to the inner city! Grimm attacks increased! Population in danger, now desperately searching for shelter! City evacuates into the metro tunnels and what do they find? The southeast quadrant of Vale is known for wild forests and deep caves!"

Yang: "Doc, what are you saying?"

Oobleck: "My dear, we're not just looking for an underground crime network, we're looking for an UNDERGROUND crime network!"

Y/n: "So that's why we couldn't find any kind of trace of the white fang... they were here this whole time, we were just looking in the wrong place.

Blake: "They've been working in caves?"

Oobleck: "No, no, Mountain Glenn was Vale's first serious attempt at expansion. It worked for a short period of time, thanks to an aggressive perimeter defense, and unique transportation; the city developed an elaborate subway system to carry citizens safely from the new territory into the main Kingdom! Sadly, without the many natural barriers Vale had to protect its borders, Mountain Glenn was doomed from the start! As the end drew near, the citizens of the territory made one last attempt at survival: They took up shelter beneath the city! In massive caves that they had cleared out for the subway. And they had cut themselves off from the surface!"

Yang: "An underground village?"

Oobleck: "In a matter of speaking, yes. A safe haven. Until.. an explosion opened the mounth of another cavern, filled with subterranean Grimm. After that, the Kingdom officially sealed off the tunnels, creating the world's largest tomb. If Ruby is down there, we must find her..."

You watch as Doctor Oobleck transforms his coffee canister into a bat. As starts walking off to search for an enternce to the tunnels, you walk over and stare down into the hole.
