Cheryl lay restlessly in the bed of her hut. There was the gentle crashing of waves that could be heard from the nearby beach. But it didn't matter. She still couldn't sleep. She'd had the most perfect evening, having been spoiled to a beautiful meal by Toni on the beach underneath a gazebo that turned out had been built by the hotel's handyman particularly for that moment, under Toni (and Veronica)'s instruction.
The redhead let out a sigh, her hands reaching out and drifting through the soft fur of her dog's white coat. Bella currently slept where Toni had been sleeping over the past few days. But Toni wasn't sleeping there now. The two were under strict orders by Veronica (and kinda by Betty) that neither of them were allowed to share a room the night before their wedding. And Cheryl could understand why this was an order. But it still didn't make sleeping alone any easier. Not even Alex was in her hut right now because Kate and Ravi took him for the night and this morning Cheryl was okay with it but right now she isn't.
Suddenly Cheryl jumped when she heard a light knock on the wooden door of her hut. Both she and Bella sat up, and the woman furrowed her brow when the knocking stopped. She looked down at Bella as the dog leapt off the bed, then patted over to the door, taking a big sniff underneath it. A small smile grew on Cheryl's face when the Golden Retriever's tail began wagging ferociously, and Cheryl knew exactly what that meant. It meant Toni had snuck over to see her.
Cheryl let out a light giggle as she crept over to the door and unlocked it while Bella pined slightly, her tail still wagging. The redhead opened the door enough for Toni to slip through, and he let out a quiet yelp as his dog's tail accidentally hit him it was wagging so hard. "Hey Bella, I know, I know..." Toni whispered to Bella, accepting the ferocious licks the dog applied to his bare legs.
"Toni, what are you doing here?" Cheryl whispered, a huge smile on her face as she looked at her fiancée.
Toni looked back at her apologetically, "I couldn't sleep." He whispered nervously, looking up from Bella and for a moment Cheryl wondered if Toni was about to cry. The brunette scrunched her face up awkwardly, "Let's just elope! Lets...let's just get the soonest flight over to Vegas and get married there, just the four of us-"
"The four of us?" Cheryl whispered with a slightly concerned expression.
"Yeah, you, me, Alex and Bella. We'll just take off and get married there. Get it over with."
"Toni," Cheryl began, taking hold of her fiancée's hands, noticing the look on the man's face. That was the expression Toni wore when he was nervous. Cheryl felt nervous too, but not enough to want to run away. At least Toni wasn't suggesting running away from her. "You do remember that I suggested we do that in the first place."
Toni took a deep breath. His stupid anxiety had started playing up a lot recently the closer they'd got to their wedding day. And it wasn't because he was nervous about spending the day with Cheryl and being able to say "I do" in front of all their family and friends. Toni was terrified that his uncle or his wife would ruin the whole day and...
"Everything's going to be okay. Tomorrow will be perfect no matter what happens." Cheryl whispered, squeezing her fiancée's hands assuring, "And do you know how I know?"
Toni swallowed loudly, shaking his head gently, his eyes drifting down to Cheryl's lips, then back up into her bright blue eyes.
"Because it's going to be our day. We're going to be together. Veronica and Betty will ensure that everything runs smoothly and to time. Your mom will look over everything and the moment something might happen she will stop it. Nothing is going to ruin it." Cheryl replied gently and this seemed to be something Toni hadn't considered. Cheryl was right, everyone in their family will make sure that nothing is going to happen and ruin their day.
"Yeah. No. You're right...i-it'll be fine."
"It'll be great, just you wait." Cheryl replied affectionately, nudging the tip of Toni's nose with her own, and she felt Toni tugging her body up against his. They shared a soft kiss. One that broke as soon as Bella squished her way between them to lay on their feet and the two let out gentle giggles as they looked down at their dog.
"You're going to have to go back to your hut handsome, just in case Veronica's strict enough that she's got everyone on a 'night round' to check we're still in separate rooms." Cheryl said sweetly, looking at her fiancée with a soft smile. Toni's smile had dropped, and he let out a sigh while he rolled her eyes.
"I wouldn't put it past her." He said quietly, then gave Cheryl one last kiss, before stepping back from her and wandering back to the door. Bella had quickly stood up and had followed her other owner, much to Toni's amusement. The brunette crouched down to look at her dog, "You take care of her for me, yeah?" and Toni let out a light chuckle as Bella licked his face, "I'll take that as an 'Okay'."
Cheryl looked down at her fiancée affectionately, a soft smile on her face as she watched Toni stand up with a grin, "I'll see you tomorrow, Miss Blossom."
"Not if I see you first, Mister Topaz." Cheryl quietly replied, giving Toni one last wink before watching her fiancée leave the hut. And the redhead let out a heavy sigh as the door closed again. She missed him already.
Only nine hours to go.
