In the 150th birth anniversary commemoration of the revolutionary leader, Kawit Mayor Angelo Emilio Aguinaldo, from the third generation of Aguinaldo’s descendants, reiterated the contributions of his great grandfather.
“Sa pag-alala natin sa kanyang ika-150 anibersaryo ng kapanganakan, sana ay balik-aralin natin na si Heneral Emilio Aguinaldo ang nagbigay satin ng pambasang watawat, ang nag-utos sa paglikha ng ating pambansang awit, at ang pangulo na nanguna sa labanan para sa ating kalayaan,” he said.
Battles and deaths came to pass during the Philippine Revolution. But the Filipinos hang on to the ideals planted by the Katipuneros until the nation savored freedom.
Just like how the Aguinaldo Highway helps commuters to get into the places in Cavite, Aguinaldo also, in the eyes of some historians, accompanied the Filipinos to a key destination – the present democracy.
