Narrators POV:
Victor stood up with blood dripping from the corner of his mouth. He smiled evilly down at Remus who was meant to be slain. Thomas regained he senses by this time and was hiding behind the throne. But during the fight he awoke and walked over to the possession orb and noticed that Patton, Remy, Logan, Deceit, Virgil, and Roman were no longer fighting, they weren't even in view. Thomas was confused for a moment, before someone tapped his shoulder.
It was Roman.
"Ahhhh!" Thomas yelped when he saw Roman.
"Oh, sorry! I didn't mean to scare you." Roman quickly assured.
"It's alright." Thomas responded.
He looked over and saw the rest of the sides behind him. Patton waved and said hi, Logan adjusted his glasses, Virgil was zipping up his hoodie, Remy drank some coffee, and Deceit dusted off his hat. They all looked like they're normal selves but they were still vampires.
"And if you so wish to know how we are uninjured and not attacking you, he released us from his possession, and because we have been mythological creatures for the last month and half, so we are to heal faster than the average human." Logan explained.
"Okay, there's a LOT of things you've got to clarify after this is over." Thomas said.
After a few seconds of awkward sighs, Virgil pepped up and said he had a plan.
"If we can get that guy pinned down and unable to move, maybe we can rid ourselves of him like we were gonna do but got distracted by Thomas."
"Sorry..."
"It's fine. Let's go."
The sides told Thomas to stay behind the throne for his own safety. Thomas agreed.
Each one of them hid in the darkest corner they could find. They waited for the perfect moment. When Victor stood up, Roman saw his brother lying on the ground and blood gushing out of his throat. He grew curious about as to why Remus and the vampire were fighting in the first place. He quickly flew, unnoticed, to Thomas. Thomas was there from the beginning and anyone knew anything, it would be him.
"Thomas?"

"Huh?"

"Why was Remus fighting with the vampire?"

"Remus made Victor promise that if he brought me here, he would release you from possession. He loves you, his brother."

Roman was shocked. He hated his brother, he was ashamed of him. And to know that Remus did something to save him. It painted a different perspective of Remus for Roman.
"Wow" was all Roman could say before flying back to his spot.

Victor strolled around with a grimace on his face. He knew something was off.

Virgil was a little too ready to enter the fight and shot out of a corner as fast as the speed of sound and tackled Victor to the floor. He, unlike Remus, got a good hold on Victor and with the help of Deceit and Logan, they were able pin him down and make him powerless. Roman created the traditional wooden stake and he was going to puncture it through his heart but not Victor was able to free is right leg and kick Roman in the guts.
It knocked the wind out of him

Victor stood up once more pushing away the rest. He began to sprint towards the throne knowing Thomas was hidden behind.

Patton tried to aid Thomas but he too was pushed back. He was slammed into the wall and was slapped silly by dead tree branches on the way there.

Victor tore down the throne and scowled at Thomas, who was terrified. He tried to stand up but Victor pushed him down. He was so scared he screamed as loud as he could.

Out of the blue, Remus came and smack his metal club on Victors head, grabbed the stake, and stabbed him through the heart which in doing so, he screamed "YOU CANNOT FORCE INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS OUT OF YOUR HEAD!!" The final stab was enough to kill the vampire.

The sides who had been bitten glowed bright with their colors and then it dimmed down again and they were back to normal.

The sides rejoiced as they escaped the darkness. Thomas was no longer scared or depressed. He was feeling so much better than before. And the best part, Remus forgave Roman for hating him and know they are as close as brothers can be.

As they exited the maze, they noticed the same tree that Roman made residence in a long time ago. It was now blossoming with not just Roman colors (like it used to). It now had Virgils, and Pattons, and Logans, and Remys, and Deceits, and Remus's colors too. It was more beautiful than it ever was before.

"Ya feel like upgrading the mindpalace?" Roman exclaimed.
Logan responded. "Yes but how will we relocate the tree?"
As the two continued their discussion, the others relaxed. They were so happy to be human again.
