The Wrong Future

Episode 7: Parting

We were at the park he took us to for our first date, leaning against the same tree from then. It kind of became our favourite spot after dates.

Y/N: I can't believe you're going tomorrow.

I play with his hand which was linked with mine as I stare down at them. He tightens his grip and brings up our hands to his lips as he kisses the back of my hand.

Jaemin: You can still come with me you know?

Y/N: And you know that I won't. I still wanna finish my life over here.

Jaemin: *smiles* It was worth a shot.

A moment of silence passes after which he speaks up again.

Jaemin: I was going to wait until you came back to Noresen but the thought of you crying made me reconsider.

Y/N: What do you mean?

Jaemin: Renjun and Jeno, they'll probably come to Noresen someday as well.

Y/N: What? How? I thought only stars were able to get there.

Jaemin: Stars and Halflings.

Y/N: Wait... They're gonna become Halflings?

Jaemin: Yup *smiles*

Y/N: How... No way!!

Jaemin rocks his head back and forth before looking at me and smirking.

Jaemin: Yeah.

Y/N: So Lisa and Tzuyu are stars?!

Jaemin chuckles and nods his head.

Jaemin: If they end up getting married then they'll become Halflings and can come to Noresen.

I jump in excitement and hug Jaemin as he squeezes me back.

Jaemin: You're not allowed to cry when you leave Earth now, okay? It's not like you won't see them again.

Y/N: Shut up.

I hit his back and he shakes his head while he lets go of me, breaking the hug.

Jaemin: If only you got that excited about me.

He pouts and I laugh while pinching his cheeks.

Y/N: I was always curious though, how can you tell the difference between a mortal, Halfling and Star?

Jaemin: It's nothing fancy. A blue light glows around Stars, a red one for Halflings and no light for mortals.

Y/N: Oh, do you see it all the time?

Jaemin: Usually just the first few times we meet the person. After that everyone just goes back to having no light.

Y/N: So that's how you could tell Lisa and Tzuyu were stars?

Jaemin: For Tzuyu, yes.

Y/N: What about Lisa?

Jaemin: ...I might have called her from Noresen.

Y/N: What?! You were playing match maker behind the scenes this whole time?!

Jaemin: Well I didn't exactly want to hear you whine about Jeno if Renjun came so... yeah I did something about it.

Y/N: Aww, you actually care about them.

I tease him while poking him but he catches my hand making me stop while I laugh.

Jaemin: I swear to the Fates you really drive me nuts sometimes.

He gives off an exasperated sigh making my laughter worse off than before as he watches me.
