The sight before me causes me to gasp in wonder, as I gaze at the at the magnificent steaming train, with an expression of nothing short of excitement. It is significantly larger than what I had initially expected, and with the smoke billowing out of the top, it gives the platform a misty, but comforting feeling.
My mum must have noticed my expression, because she gave me a knowing smile.

My parents both turned facing each other, gazing intently, and showing nothing but love and kindness in their eyes. I remember them saying once, that this was where they first met, when they were 11 years old.

"Awwwwwwwwwwwww!" I exclaimed, whilst making kissy faces at them. Oops. Way to ruin the moment Ro. Oh well! My dad just started mimicking me.
"Oh look!" My mum said, although still laughing at our childishness, "There are the Potters!"
"WHERE!" I yell, as I spin round, my eyes searching rapidly for my best friend. I  ran frantically in the direction my mum had been pointing. My eyes quickly landed on a messy, raven haired boy wearing glasses, who was talking animatedly with his parents.

"JAMES!" I holloered, whilst sprinting towards my brother in all but blood, vaguely hearing my parents laughing at my reaction behind me.
James quickly swung his head around, searching for the sound of my voice. He barely had enough time to prepare for the impact, as he spotted me hurtling towards him. I bear tackled him to the ground in a hug.
"RO RO" he all but screamed in my ear, "I'VE MISSED YOU!"
"MERLIN JAMES! NO NEED TO BLOODY BUST MY EAR DRUMS!" I yell at him.
"MERLIN RO! NO NEED TO BLOODY JAB ME IN THE SPLEEN!" He yells back, just as, if not louder.
"YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT A SPLEEN IS!" I shout. "Ugh..." I groan as I peel myself off the floor, and James jumps up beside me. I pull him into one of my bone crushing hugs.
"Ro!-Can't-Bloody-BREATHE!" He wheezes.
"Oops!" I say with an innocent smile, whilst releasing him. "I missed you too." This time with a genuine smile.
"I can't believe we're finally going to Hogwarts together!" We exclaimed together, earning laughs from our parents'.
"Its lovely to see you again Rose!" My godmother says smiling at me.
"AUNT EMILY! UNCLE JOHN!" I yell, pulling them both into one of my hugs, whilst James greets my parents, who are his godparents.
We hear the train whistle sound, signalling that we have 10 minutes until the train leaves the platform.
"Come on then you two-" my dad starts, smiling at us.
"We wouldn't want to miss the train now, would we!" Uncle John finishes.
James and I turned to look at each other, then at the train, to see students hastily boarding and waving goodbye to their families', then back at each other.
We hurriedly grabbed our owls, Artemis and Apollo, and took off legging it towards the train.
"BYE FAMILY!" We shout simultaneously over our shoulders, whilst barging through students and families in order to board the Hogwarts express.

Once aboard the train, we went in search to find a nice, empty compartment for the journey. We soon found one at the very end of the train, and I quickly hoisted my trunk onto the rack and placed Artemis' cage on the seat, whilst i slumped into the seat nearest the window, so that I could give my family a final wave of goodbye when we set off. James did the same thing, placing Apollo's cage next to Artemis', and sat down in the seat opposite me.

"I'M SO EXCITED!" I shouted whilst bouncing up and down in my seat, looking a bit too much like a squirrel who has had way  too much caffeine. James just laughed at me. Offensive much? Whatever.
We soon felt the slow chug of the train as it set off for Hogwarts. Me and James began waving at our family, watching our mums' as they tried to conceal their tears.
Soon we found the train turning the corner, and the platform was no longer in sight.
"Hello?" Asked a voice from the doorway. I turned around to see a boy standing just outside the compartment, holing his trunk in one hand, and his owl cage in the other. He had dark, shaggy hair, which held the similarity to a birds nest, and startling blue eyes. They danced like the stars in the sky at night, and held the twinkle of mischief in them. He was slightly taller than James and had the same muscle, which you got from playing lots of Quidditch.
"Sorry for interrupting," he began apologetically, "but I was wandering if I could sit here?"
"Of course!" I replied, discreetly winking at James, who then replied by wiggling his eyebrows at me. We do this to signal lets prank!
"What's your name?" James asked the boy.
"Sirius," he said smiling at us. "Sirius Black"
"What are your names?" He's asked us as we shook his hand. Not at the same time! One after the other. That would just be strange...
His question caused James and I to smirk at each other. This is going to be fun.
"Rose Silverlight Heartweather-"
"James Potter-"
"We're the best people-"
"You will ever-"
"Meet!" We finished together, we're kind of like our dads in the way that we can finish each other sentences, we're just that close.
"Okay..." Sirius said slowly, his mouth dropping open in awe, his head had been going back and forth between us, as if he had been watching a muggle tennis match. "Are you two twins or something?" He asked us once he had recovered form his shock at our twinny-ness.
James and I just looked at each other, and burst out laughing, holding on to each other's shoulders for support.
"No!" I said, still laughing. "His parents are my godparents-" I began.
"And her parents are my godparents." Followed James.
"And we see each other practically every day!-" I said, still grinning.
"Yeah!" James continued,"we're neighbours! And we're super close, because our parents wet to Hogwarts together, and were best friends in Gryffindor!" He explained to Sirius.
I suddenly had a thought. "So in theory," I began, "we're God siblings!" I exclaimed. This caused us to promptly burst out laughing.
Once we had calmed down a bit, Sirius then asked us, "so what house do you want to be in?"
"Gryffindor obviously!" We shouted together, rolling our eyes simultaneously at his stupid question. Silly boy.
"Me too!" He said grinning at us, and causing a fresh wave of laughter.
