As me and Lily made our way over to the Slytherin table, the thoughts of what the sorting hat had told me once again clouding my mind. I was soon snapped out of my thoughts when we stopped behind Sev. I turned to face Lily, a look of 'please Let me scare him!' Plastered on my face.
"Oh, go on then!" She sighed, rolling her eyes and chuckling at my childishness. A few of the Slytherins opposite Sev had noticed us, but once they saw what I was about to do, they simply smirked, and went back to eating their breakfast.
I counted silently in my head to three, and then pounced on Sev, scaring the fudge out of him, I might add , and yelled in his ear, "MORNING, SEV!" Grinning like the madwoman I was. He was so startled, he leapt in the air, spilling his corn flakes all over Lily in the process.
"Merlin, Sev!" I scolded. You could see from the look on Lily's face that she thought I was going to have a go at him for spilling the cereal on her, but sadly, she was mistaken! "Who eats corn flakes! They have to be the plainest, boringest and dullest cereal ever! It's basically frosties! Without the sugar!" I yelled. By this time most of the Slytherins began cracking up.
"Sev! This is my only robe!" Lily complained.
"Oh," I said, glancing down at her drenched front. "I'll fix that!" And with a flourish of my wand, Lily's robe was good as new. Which it technically was... Anyway, off the point.
"What are you guys doing here? You're Gryffindors aren't you? Don't you want to make a new, better friend from your own house?" He asked us miserably.
"Oh, Sev" I whispered, giving him a hug. I could tell these thoughts had probably been stuck in his head ever since the sorting, and he just needed some reassurance that we would not abandon him.
"Just because we're in Gryffindor doesn't mean we can't still be you're friends! We'll see each other in lessons won't we?" I smiles kindly at him, and letting Lily hug him.
"Yeah, Sev!" She smiled, "we'll always be you're friends!"
"Thanks, guys." He whispered happily.
I then noticed a girl from the sorting last night, she was one of the first to be sorted, and I remember thinking that she must be related to Sirius.
"Hi!" I grinned at her. "You're Andromeda Black, aren't you?" I asked her. She smiled and nodded.
"Yeah, and you're Rose Silverwell Heartweather!" She stated.
"That's right!" I replied, "are you by any chance related to Sirius Black?" I asked her.
"Yes!" She grinned, "he's my cousin! Speaking of Sirius though, I don't suppose you know where he is?" She asked me, concern for her cousin showing all over her face.
"Oh he's fine," I waved it off, "he's just recovering from a prank, that's all." I smirked at her.
"Oh!" She exclaimed, getting excited and sitting up in her seat a bit more. "What did you do? I love Pranking my sisters at home!"
"Me, Gideon and Fabian Prewett and Peeves all woke them up early by trumpeting really loud, setting off stink pellets in their dorm, and changing all of their robes to pink Hello kitty ones!" I grinned, trying to hold in my laughter.
"That was you?" Laughed a prefect a few seats over. He had blonde hair, that went down just past his shoulders, and he had his arm wrapped around a girls waist, who had long black silky hair, with strips of blonde running through it.
I smirked, nodding my head enthusiastically. "Of course! The mighty Rose Silverlight Heartweather, at your service!" I bowed.
"I'm Lucius Malfoy,"he smiled, holding out his hand, "and this is my girlfriend Narcissa Black." I took his hand, the turned to Narcissa to do the same.
"It's lovely to meet you both," I smiled. "This is my friend Lily Evans" I said, indicating to a shy looking Lily.
"Nice to meet you." She said quietly. She then checked her watch, and a look of alarm passed over her face. "Merlin! We're late!" She exclaimed, grabbing my hand and dragging me across the hall and back to the Gryffindor table.
"Bye!" I called to my new friends, waving happily.
"Mini!" I called to our head of house. She turned around to the sound of my voice curiously. "Could we have our timetables please?" I asked her.
"Why certainly!" She replied kindly, handing us each a roll of parchment. "You best be getting to your first lesson, you don't want to be late in your first day." She stated sternly, turning on her heal and walking off in the direction of her classroom.
"I swear that woman is bipolar." I said to Lily.
"What have we got today then?" She asked me, ignoring my precious comment.
"Double potions, Yay! Divination, Yay! Transfiguration, Yay! And Charms, Yay!" I grinned. " We have a great day today!"
"Okay then, so we better get going down to the dungeons then, for potions. Where are they again?" Lily asked me.
"At the other side of the castle!" I groaned, causing Lily to giggle and drag me down the hallways. "sanguinum gehennam!" I exclaimed.
"Bless you." Said Sirius, as we were just passing them. James and I were in hysterics at Sirius. It seemed they had forgotten the prank I pulled on them, and James had remembered the counter charm for the robes. They were back to normal again. Well... As normal as possible for these guys that is.
"That wasn't a sneeze!" Laughed Remus.
"Oh." Sirius flushed in embarrassment. "Well what did say then?" He asked.
Remus looked pointedly at us as we were still laughing. After a minute, we both said simultaneously, "bloody hell!" And we began to guffaw again.
