Who are U?

Eight.

Today after class I have a job interview at the Apple store and tomorrow I have one at The Body Shop, I'm stressing out. We're almost reaching exams season, lots of fucking assignments, presentations and etc. If I feel like I'm dying already, I can't imagine how would it be when having to work, people survive after all. Our squad didn't have much time to hangout, I call my mom less and Aiko is probably going through the same shit.

As I walk down the hall, I see Daniel near the vending machine, half sitting on the small wall. He had a can of iced coffee in one hand and his notes on the other, he even looked really focused studying. We did talk to each other after that afternoon, but we avoided talking about my behavior in the car, which I was thankful he didn't question it. I approach the machine and buy my drink, then I look up to him to say hi, I haven't realize that he'd let his hair grow a bit longer than last time, he had a mini bun on top and some hair falling to the side of his forehead. He didn't hear me so I shake my hand in front of him.

"Oh, I didn't see you, hey how are you?!" He finally came back to earth.

"Nah, it's fine. I'm fine, like most times and you?" I sat in front of him trying to open my can.

"My brain is suffering, I think I need a break for 15 minutes, at least." He sighed. He looks like he studies a lot, and he gets good marks too. For me... I do what I can. I'm not mediocre but I'm not in his level either, you get me?

"Yeah that'll be good for you." I put down my drink, then turn to him, take his drink and notes to put them away as well, and I hold his hands.

"What are you trying to do?" He gives me a smile, but he actually look tired, you could tell by his eyes.

"We are going to the empty area deep in our mind." I say with a spiritual sounding voice.

"Alright, let's go then. I'll trust you on that one." He holds my hand this time.

"Let's close our eyes and take deep breaths for a minute." I close my eyes, while he does that too.

As we were doing that, I could here the sound of busy people walking by, some studying with loud music, the cold wind passing through. It was truly peaceful, my mind started wandering around to be honest, and I started hearing things faintly until it was a complete silence. The stress kind of left me entirely, I feel better now. I feel Daniel's lip on mine for a quick moment, so I opened my eyes.

"Seriously? Weren't you relaxing your mind?" I said with a straight face.

"I did, after two minutes I opened my eyes but you were still lost into the 'empty spot deep in your mind', But somehow you looked very pretty sitting in front of me, so..." He told me while rubbing his eyes.

"Are you sleepy?" He reminded me of little children when they're tired or sleepy, they rub their eyes.

"I think so."

"Then go take a rest, 'cause I'm going to the library, it's cold out here." I stand up with my can.

"Ok, I'll come with you."

He then took his stuffs and so we walk to the library. Thankfully there were spots available, a good one too just by the heater near the big window. Instead of sitting in front me, he sat beside me still reading his notes, so I do the same. As I was writing some paper works on my laptop, I look at the time and it was the perfect time for me to go to my room and get change for the interview. I was about to tell Daniel that I'm leaving but he was asleep, his left hand under his cheek, his other arm stretch out on the table and his face was turned towards me. Under his eyes were actually slightly dark, he looked pale too. Man, what university does to someone. So I didn't want to disturb him but I did leave a little note stick on his cheek.
