Ten.

Me and Mindy were blasting some African musics throughout our ride to the cabin. The guys were riding together in Daniel's car, according to Auden it should take us at least seven hours drive. I really don't see why they want to go there so badly, first of all it's expensive as fuck —well to me the renting price is too much— but they say that they've been there after their prom night and since then, they loved it and made sure to go every year whenever they can, which leads them to bring me along. As we were eating some fresh fruits that we packed up before leaving campus, I look at Mindy while she was trying to get some apple slices and still being focused on the road. So I ask her the one of the numerous questions that I had in mind.

"Mindy, how do you guys afford to do this while I didn't even contribute to anything, and here I am tagging along with you guys." I said in one breath. "Are students suppose to spend money like this?" There was a bit of sarcasm to the last question.

"Booboo, as much as I hate to say it that way, but my family is quite fortunate financially. I'm not trying to say that I'm a spoiled kid either, but usually they help me and sometimes Daniel pays for the whole thing. And as stubborn as Auden he contributes a part of it too especially if we go there for a much longer time, and Sam takes care of other stuffs that we will need, like fuel for the cars, foods and etc." She quickly glance at me then continues. "Honestly there's so much of us now I don't think it will make sense for you to be contributing 'cause we will be gone for only three days so relax." She slightly push my shoulder and I smile.

"Yeah next time I'll definitely be contributing because I feel like I'm taking advantage of you guys and it's clearly unfair." While that I think about it, "and what do you mean by 'Daniel sometimes pays for the whole thing'?"

She sighs a bit then answers, "He too is pretty loaded, so he's capable of paying for the whole trip. If you didn't know about it he was probably waiting the right time to let you know, but that's not something he likes to brag about." I was a bit shocked for a few seconds.

"Then this time, I mean right now that we're going there, did he also paid for the whole expenses?" I was deeply wishing that she'll say no.

But nope.

"Y-yeah, he kind of did." Oh God, I'm a bit uncomfortable now. "Just don't worry about it Raven, next time we go just do your part if that makes you feel better." I couldn't answer. I was deeply thinking about how hard students life can get and how the minimum amount of money is important to them.

Now that I look at it, it clearly answers my questions on why he has such an expensive car, well for Mindy I could tell especially when we went to her house few months ago. I shake my head to stop overthinking things out, and just keep the fun with the music and Mindy looked a bit relief of my reaction.

As I was still numb from the two hours nap that I took during the drive, Mindy was so mad at me for passing out and leaving her alone and talking to herself —I was literally in the same space as her— I actually felt sorry for that. I don't know how to drive so either way I would've been useless to her unless I keep her in an interesting conversation about me travelling. I was still quiet with her still rambling over this, such a mom. When I saw the entrance of the lake and cabins at view I got a bit happy that we're hear already, my ass was getting flat already by sitting down for so long.
