Tony looked out of the cafe window for an hour, just waiting to se you pass by. But he never saw you, and he could help being washed over with the feeling of disappointment. He hadn't slept properly for months. His head wouldn't let him.
He swirled the coffee in his mug while thinking about everything. His business was doing well, and these days he wasn't hardly needed- pepper was so good at her job she had basically replaced him. He wasn't complaining, over the years she had been there she was becoming more and more like the little sister he never had, and he knew he would do anything to keep her safe.
And Rhodes. His best friend since college. He was always there for him, and he was the only one who he told about his depression and the medication he wa on. Rodney was the one person who would constantly check up on Tony- making sure he was alright and had taken his tablets. He was also there during those long nights, before the accident, and would stay with him until he fell asleep. He truest was the best friend he could ever have asked for.
Tony had amazing people around him, yet he still felt so alone . He couldn't help feeling that there was something missing in his life, or some one. The whole in his heart made him desperate- he trailed to fill it with one night stands and alcohol. It worked for the night, but just made the next day harder. He didn't want to keep lobbing like this but he was cursed. He was too good at lying.
Both Rhodes and pepper knew there was something wrong- but they didn't know the extent of it.
He felt like he was missing a part of himself.
They tried to help him as much as they could. But it was hard for them to watch the once lively , charismatic, loving , warm hearted Tony Stark become anything but. And they couldn't help because they didn't understand. They couldn't under stand- wouldn't. But the truth was they would never understand, because they didn't know how Tony was feeling, and maybe if they did, he wouldn't have found you.
You saved him.
