This is not a joke

Alex's POV
My life is so confusing now. Five hours ago something unexpected happened, Jen has blocked me and I don't even know what to say. I'm unsure of everything, but I know for sure that I can't call Jennifer. I call Jennifer's mother instead.

Phone call
"Hi Alex" Lupe says
"Hi, how are you?" I ask
"I'm good, how are you?" Lupe replies
"I'm good too" I say
"Can I help you with anything?" She says
"Yes, actually. It's about Jennifer" I says
"What is it. Is she ok?" She asks
"Yes, yes... I mean I don't know. And that why I called." I say
"I've been calling her and she's not answering me. I think..... I think she blocked me or something" I continue
"Well, I think she's not answering because she's working. She usually doesn't pick calls when she's at work unless it's her kids" she says
"But.. do you know when she's going to finish? I ask curiously
"I think she's going to work the whole day today, she told Tiana to babysit. She only does that when she's working late" Lupe says
"But Tiana called me and I'm the one babysitting. I can call her and ask" she add
"Yes please, that would be great" I say and she hangs up

"Dad, aren't you going to drive us to mom?" Tashi says
"Of course baby, get ready I'll be there in sec" I say
"We are ready" Ella says
"Great, I'll be there" I say taking the car keys

Jennifer's POV
My phone rings and it's Tiana. I have to answer since she's basically going to take care of my kids while I'm working.

Phone call
"Hi,again Jen" she says
"Hi, baby" I say
"Jen, I called you to tell you that something really important came up and that I won't be available tonight but I've got you covered. Lupe agreed to take that kids tonight. I'm really sorry Jen. Your know I-" she says
"Hey, Tiana. It's totally fine. My schedule changed I will be able to pick my kids up myself." I say
"Are you sure?" She says worried
"Yeah, Yeah. It's totally fine. Just do me a favor just tell mom that she doesn't have to babysit for me tonight. Thank you " I say and hand up

20 minutes later my mom calls
Phone call
"Jen, where are you?" She says
"I don't know, Starbucks maybe." I say
"Listen, Tiana called and told me about you decision. Are you sure?" She says
"Yes mommy. My schedule changed. I'll be just fine" I say
"Ok then, but Alex called and told me that you won't answer his calls. He just wants to know how you are so pls call him" she says
"Oh really? That must be a mistake. I'll call him right after I finish work. I'm kind of busy now so I'll have to call you later" I say hanging up before she asks me more questions

4pm
Jen just picked her kids up from school and we're going home.
"Mom?" Max says
"Yes baby" I say
"Why hasn't Alex's call the past couple of days?" He asks
"I don't know baby. Maybe his phone is broken or something" I say playing innocent
"Thank god" Emme says
"Why are saying so?" I ask
"I don't like him, I don't like any guy you are with" she says
"But baby, why" I ask
"Because..... because every time you're with someone it always ends bad. They are all unworthy of you, they always leave you sad and alone at the end" she says starting to tear up
"I'm never alone, I always have you guys" I say almost tearing up too
"Why does girls always have to be so emotional? Please turn the radio on." Max says rolling his eyes
Both me and Emme smiles. And I drive us home.

Jen and the kids are at home watching tv. It's almost 8pm.
"Cocos? You have to get into you PJ's, you have school tomorrow" I say
"Mooom, it's only 8pm. Come on" Emme says
"I didn't tell you to go to sleep, just to get ready for it. Then you won't have to worry about it anymore" I say
"Oh okay mom" they both say running away

Jen is watching tv as suddenly her phone rings. She doesn't know who is calling her since it's an unknown number.

Phone call
"Hello?" She says
"Jen pls don't hang up" the person says
"What do you want from me?" Jen says angrily
"Please just let me explain, that's all I want" Alex says
"No, Alex. You don't have to explain anything and neither have I. You were right, we were broken but I realized it too late." Jen says
"What do you mean "you don't have to explain?" Alex says
"Nothing, I was just stupid this morning and I came to apologize to you for what I did. But I seems like I don't have to" Jen says just to make him feel bad
"What you mean "apologize". What is it that you have to apologize for?" Alex says
"Well you're not gonna like it. Just leave me be" She says
"Like what? Jennifer just say it, it's not like I care or something" Alex says to make her talk
"Ok then. I came to you this morning to ask your forgiveness for what I did. Right after we have that fight I was feeling lonely and vulnerable so I had a couple of drinks and I just met this fine looking guy I don't even remember where it was but I was great. I felt bad about it so that why I came to you but the good news is that I don't have to feel bad anymore, we were BROKEN UP already, yaaaye" she lies to Alex
"What?? You fucking liar. I know you're lying" he say angrily
"You don't have to believe me. I don't care anymore. Can you pls leave me alone now?" Jen says happily knowing that she gave Alex a taste of his own medicine
"Jennifer this is not a joke, it's not even funny. Stop playing. I going to fucking kill that guy who ever it was." He say seriously
"I don't care what you're gonna do. Didn't I threaten to kill any of the bitches you fucked? Btw his name was something with Rodriguez too I think, and the face looked pretty familiar. I don't know maybe it might have been you or one of your brothers or cousins. I really forgot, he really fucked me so hard that I don't even remember him😂😂. But if I ever see him again I'll snap a picture for you " Jen say making Alex even more jealous
"Are you saying that you-. Jennifer this is not a fucking joke. I'm going to-" he say but Jen cuts him off
"Going to what? It's was over between us, remember? I mean you have to remember that, you reminded me of it.
I have to go now, I don't have time to justify myself." Jen says hanging up

* Jennifer's mind: omfg. What have I done. Why did I even lie? Well... he kind of deserved it*
