The power of love

She hugged me

The past few months has been great. Jennifer has been busy with her job, The kids are all good, and this time even Natasha. Well at least what it seems like. This journey turned out to be better than they could all imagine. But just as anything in the world, it has an end.

"Baby" Alex says hugging her from behind.
"Yeaah?" She says smiling
"Well.... we'll soon be flying back to Miami. So I thought..... I thought maybe we should do something fun together.... me, you, the kids." He says
"You smell sooo good" she says turning about and look Alex in the eyes
"Are you even listening?" Alex says
"Yes of course. After the wrap party?" She says
"Amazing. What should we do? What's your suggestion?" He asks
"I suggest we just stay in you know" Jen says flirty and pulling Alex into her
"Stay in? Really?" Alex says confused
"Don't you think? Or do you prefer a bar instead?" Jen says still flirting
"Are you high on something?" Alex says looking worried at her
"Yeah... high in love... in you..." jen says trying to kiss Alex but he won't
"Baby. I'm talking about us AND the kids" he says grabbing her head and making her focus on him
"Oh really? I got kind of carried away..... but what was it again?" Jen says and Alex just looks at her and smile.
"Gosh I love you" Alex says and kisses her lips

5 hours later
"Mom is it true that we're going to Disneyland??" Max asks excitedly
"WHAT??" Jen says
"Dad said it" Ella says
"He did?" Jen asks
"Yess" Emme says
"AAALLEEXX" Jen says
"Baby what did you tell the kids?" Jen asks
"What?? I'm here🙄 ..... I mean didn't we talk about it" he says
"We did? I thought we just agreed on doing something fun but not the actual thing" Jen says
"Well.. I thought Disney sounds fun. Don't you agree?" He says
"NOo, there are too many people there. Maybe just in the pool for a whole day. We can even have some fun activity and stuff" Jen says
"But baby..." Alex says
"I agree with Jen" tashi says
"Really?? Omg🥰" Jen says overwhelmed
"Yeah that way I won't have to be around you guys all day. No offense" she say
"None taken" Jen say disappointedly
"So what do you think? Pool?" Jen asks Alex
"I'm ok with it" Max says
"Yeah, me too" Ella agrees
"Well, since you all seem to agree on that. I guess I'll be the pool" Alex says kissing Jen on the forehead and goes to the kitchen

"Tashi can we talk" Jen says
"Ok" she replies

Jennifer's POV
I feel like I owe Natasha a "thank you" since she was basically the one who brought me and Alex together again. I mean all of our kids brings us together but....
We get to a room where its just me and her.
"Ehh, I wanted to talk about what you did" I say
"Oh no. What Did I do again?" She says
"It's not something bad. I just thought that I owe you a "thank you" for it. I mean if it wasn't for you maybe we would...." I say before she cuts me off
"Ahh about that? Forget it. I did just because I didn't want to see my father miserable..... and.... because.... I don't know..... I maybe felt bad for you and thought that you deserved a second maybe"  she struggles but says it
"Maybe to you it didn't mean so much but it means the world to me" I almost cry
"Well.... I'm glad I did it then" she says leaning for a hug
I start crying, this is the first time she ever hugs me from her own will without Alex forcing her
"Thanks again" I whisper
She just hold me tight, I do the same. 30 seconds later she starts pulling away
"Ok. Okay. Let go of me now..." she says and I let go
"We're not there yet." She adds
"Yeah, yeah, right" I say

I wipe away my tears and let her go out first. After 5 minutes I go out and too.

"Anyone what to watch a movie?" Alex says loudly
"Yeeeaaah", the kids shouts
They all squeeze together. And I just sit beside them.
20 minutes later Alex says"where Jennifer?"
"I'm here. What do you want?" I say . I was sitting beside Max who was watching something on his computer.
"Come on here. Why are you being so quiet?" He says
I go sit beside him.
"Are you crying?" He whispers pulling me closer
"No" I say
"Were you crying?" He asks again
"NOo" I say
"But why are you red in the face?" He asks
"I am?" I say
"Yes, like you've been crying or something" he says
"Well.... I probably cried somewhere into the movie, you know I cry for everything" I laugh
He noticed that it was a lie but doesn't say anything further

1h 45 minutes later

All the kids fell asleep while watching the movie. Jen and Alex carries them to their rooms. After that get go to their own room.
Jen gets in the shower and Alex just brush his teeth, gets and take off his clothes and get to bed.
After taking a shower Jen gets into her PJs and lays in the bed with him. She gets under the cover and then says "goodnight baby" kissing Alex on the lips and turning around to turn the light off
"Heeey. Not so fast. What's going on?" He says
"What do you mean?" Jen says
"You've been acting weird the past couple of hours" he says
"Are you sad?   Is anything bothering you?" He asks
"Baby. I'm just fine. Trust me, I would tell you if not." Jen says
"Ok, baby... I believe you. And I know that you can be emotional about everything, even the slightest. Just tell me even if it's silly. " he says
"Of course" Jen says and kiss his lips
Alex pulls her into a more passionate kiss.

Three minutes later Alex pulls away and says "goodnight" and leans back to his pillow. Jen doesn't lean back to hers, she rests her head on Alex's chest.
Shortly after they both fall asleep.

3:15am
Jen couldn't sleep
"Alex baby" Jen says sitting upright and shaking Alex
"Are you alright? It's three in the morning." He says rubbing his eyes
"She hugged me" Jen says excitedly
"Are you ok?" He says
"She might be liking me. Finally" she continues
"We're finally in a good place" she says
"Who?" Alex says confused
"Goodnight baby" she says and falls asleep again
"Were you talking in your sleep?" Alex asks but doesn't know who his asking
