"A whole new wooooooooooorld. A new fantastical point of vieeewwwww." The Disney movie Aladdin plays on my laptop. Grayson and I both lying on our stomachs next to each other with the laptop in front of us.
"Imagine if instead of a flying carpet, it was a toaster." I say out of the blue.
"What?" Grayson chuckles.
"Like you could eat toaster waffles or something while flying around." I add.
"Out of all the things you could have thought of, you chose a toaster?" Grayson teases.
"It's better than a flying carpet." I shrug.
"You've got the weirdest brain, you know that? What's going through your head right now, huh?" Grayson slowly closes the laptop.
"Well, for one thing, I'm wondering why you just shut off the movie." I respond, not looking him in the eyes.
"You don't have to be nervous around me, you know that right?" He turns to lay in his side, facing me.
"What do you mean?"
"You are very hesitant with getting close to me."
"I have my reasons."
"I know, I know." He sighs, now laying on his back and staring at the ceiling.
"I'm sorry." I sit up on the bed, looking at the ground.
"You don't have to be sorry. Just tell me what you are scared for, and I can try to help. I want this.. us.. to work." He says and sits up next to me.
"Okay." I take a deep breath. "What if.. what if you get bored of me one day.. and you just leave without saying goodbye.." I say quietly while playing with the sleeves of my sweater.
"You know I would never do that to you. Not like your da.. you know." He says softly.
I look up at him, still hesitant to believing him.
"You can trust me. Here," Grayson sticks up his pinkie finger, "Pinkie promise."
I look at him and laugh a little, and timidly wrapping my pinkie around his.
"Pinkie promise." I respond.
Grayson kisses my cheek which makes me blush. He continues to leave tiny kisses near my ear.
"It's okay to fall in love." He says once his lips reach my ear.
Those words send shivers down my spine.
Love.
Falling in love. I wouldn't know what that's like. Is this what love is? Or is it just a crush kind of thing?
Grayson's lips slowly make their way down my neck and he begins to gently lay me back on the bed.
My breathing becomes heavy as he leaves little love bites. I feel him smile against my neck.
He lifts his head up and faces me again and places his lips on mine. They moved together perfectly. Almost too perfectly.
"Wait." I break the kiss.
"You okay?"
"Yeah, I'm good, it's just.." I sigh, "I'm not ready for this kind of stuff."
"Oh, totally. Sorry, I didn't want to force you into anything-" Grayson sits ups
"Oh, god no, it's okay. I liked it, I'm just- yeah." I laugh nervously while sitting up as well.
"You liked it? I'll keep that in mind." He winks.
