My thumb moves to go press the send button, but I stop myself. What the hell am I doing?

I'm trying to walk out like him.

I'm trying to leave without saying goodbye like him.

I'm just like my dad.

I shut off my phone and toss it onto my carpeted floor. I collapse onto the ground and begin to cry again.

My vision is blurry with tears, and I can't hear anything except my sobbing.

Ping.

Something hits my window and I turn to see what it is. Nothing. I stand up and approach my window slowly and- ping!

A rock?

I open my window and see the one and only Grayson Dolan.

"Hey, T." He whispers with a sympathetic smile. Gray steps closer to my window until we are face to face.

"Hi." I laugh lightly, wiping the tears off my cheeks with the sleeve of my hoodie.

"I am so sorry about what happened back there, I really didn't mean to-"

"Don't apologize, it's okay. I should be the one who is sorry. My mom is still sensitive about me being around boys because of what happened with my dad.." I say while sticking my arms out the window and hugging him.

Luckily my bedroom window is ground level, so it's easy for us to hug.

"I understand." He pulls away from the hug and holds both of my hands.

"It's just so unfair." I look down.

"I have an idea if you are up for it.." Grayson lifts my chin up and smirks.

"Oh god." I cringe.

"I didn't mean it like that-"

"Mmmhm." I hum.

"Anyways.. have you ever snuck out?" He raises an eyebrow, still smirking.

"Huh?"

"Snuck out of the house at night?" He adds.

"What are you up to?" I give him a confused expression.

"Because your mom doesn't want me to be around you, we technically still could hang out. Ya know, in secret." He whispers the last part with his hand on the side of his mouth.

"Yeah I get that, but couldn't we also just meet in secret during the day?" I raise an eyebrow.

"Well that's boring. Don't you want to go on adventures? We could go anywhere we wanted." He tilts his head as smiles.

"Of course I want to do those things, but it would be just as much fun if we did it during the day." I say with smirk.

"Don't you want to get away from it all? Just escape from all of your problems that happen during the daytime?" He softly rubs his thumb on my hand.

"You can trust me, Tia." Grayson adds.

Our eyes are locked into each other's, not breaking the contact. God, what is this boy doing to me?

"You've got yourself a deal, Dolan." I sigh.

"Friday night," he kisses my cheek, "11:00, be ready." He points at me as he walks away from my window.

Woah.
