Chapter 18

The next day Izuku and Todoroki sat at the bar area. Izuku observed the boy as he took small sips from his glass of water. Todoroki noticed Izuku's staring but didn't know how to confront him and tell him that he was feeling uncomfortable.

"Todoroki? You know just about everyone's goal here is All Might, correct?" Izuku suddenly spoke breaking Todoroki's feeling of awkwardness. He looked down at the table and nodded. "How do you feel about that? Was All Might ever your idol?"

Todoroki furrowed his eyebrow as he took a moment to think "My idol... I never really had the time to think about that kind of stuff... Especially with my father hating him and all for being the number one hero. I mean I guess in the public eye he is a great hero, but I don't have an opinion of him."

Izuku nodded then fell silent once more, deep in thought. "Is something wrong Midoriya?" Izuku shook his head still in deep thought.

"Well then... I have a question for you now. Do you feel as if you're truly untouchable?"

"Untouchable?" Izuku tilted his head to the side not exactly understanding what Todoroki meant.

"Like nobody will be able to take you down...?"

"No, I don't believe that. That's just completely illogical and I never understood those who had the God Complex. It's annoying really. Sure I may be quick on my feet and I know how to observe and analyze things better than some people and yes I can take someone's quirk, well... now I can, but all it takes is someone with a brain, a weapon, or just strength to take me down. The only thing that we can do in our world is to become strong enough to hold our own. Even the strongest of the strong can be taken down if you can find someone smart enough to find your weaknesses. That's one of the things that I hated about Shigaraki and even Kacchan."

"You think that they both had a God Complex?"

"Ohh boy Shigaraki definitely had one!" Twice had cut in. "You see, this is why I like our boy Izuku here."

"We needed someone who knows how to plan and keep a level head, know his limits and not be so bratty when things don't go his way!" Toga smiled. "That's why Zuzu is my absolute favorite person! He doesn't get mad and throw hissy fits he analyzes his previous plan and tries to find what went wrong to better his chances in the future!"

"So... you're-" Todoroki paused when he saw Izuku's eyes shut. "Midoriya?"

"He opened one of his eyes and looked at Todoroki, staying quiet. "Are you okay?"

"What? You care about me~?"

"Shouldn't I?"

Izuku's eyes had shot open being completely off guard from Todoroki's comment. He then gave Todoroki a questioning look. He wanted to laugh but he knew that Todoroki was being completely serious. "Well... not... really? I mean.. uh..."

Izuku was beyond confused. Why would Todoroki care for him? He's never given him a reason to do so. Neither was he use to having someone care about him. "After everything that happened yesterday, I expected you to hate me."

"No. I thought everything over and I understand your motives so I'm not mad. Plus you said that this was only a temporary thing so I've decided that I will prove my worth to you."

"Oh?"

Todoroki simply nodded and sighed as he looked Midoriya in the eyes. "You were right about everything... It's about time I let all of this go. Besides... Now I'm on the path of no return, right?"

"That is correct," Izuku replied.

"Besides if I were to even try to be a hero... I wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing that I would climb the ranks as a hero while keeping the fact that I took an innocent life a secret. That's not right."
