The sound of his footsteps echoed in the building but it was far from scary. The golden light coming in from the big windows wrapped itself around him, warming his bones up. His body felt like a feather being pushed along with warm, gentle gusts of wind. The feeling of something solid and warm in his hands immediately reminded him of the young man he shared his lunch with every day. "Jungkook! I got the food, it's warm too" he chirped, picking up his steps as he peeked into every classroom he passed by, but Jungkook was nowhere in sight.

The sound of a crash made him stop in his spot, wondering if he imagined that, but it startled him once again, and in a blink of an eye he was running towards the sound. It was Jungkook, he was sure of it.

Taehyung found himself in an empty classroom with Jungkook, and two large people, he wasn't sure if they were students or even human since their features were blurry and he could see Jungkook clearly enough to see the bruises blooming on his face as well as the blood trickling out of his nose.

"What do you think you're doing?" Taehyung shouted, ready to fight whatever these things were for hurting his friend. When he approached them and tried to pull one of them away from Jungkook, who was taking the punches without a sound, his hand went through the being, as if it was some kind of hologram. It didn't even blink at his existence.

"Jungkook, I need you to move from there" Taehyung tried, hoping that he could be in his friend's place so that he would be receiving the punches instead. It wasn't anything he wasn't used to anyway. He had worse and knew that just a few bruises won't affect him, while Jungkook didn't deserve this since he did nothing wrong.

Jungkook didn't react to Taehyung's words, it made him wonder if he was invisible to everyone in the room. He tried throwing his shoe at the tall beings abusing his friend but his shoes fell on the floor on the other side of the blurry things.

Nothing worked so all he could do was wrap himself around Jungkook in an attempt to protect him even if that was useless. He could see new wounds make their appearance on Jungkook's face and he wasn't able to do anything to stop it.

The alarm startled Taehyung into waking up. He sighed and checked the time before forcing his body out of bed. He wanted to get to school as fast as he could to make sure that Jungkook was okay, but that task was not so easy since he couldn't move his right arm much due to the pain that would shoot through his shoulder whenever he'd try to do that. Wearing his uniform was a struggle, but in the end, he just walked down with his shirt unbuttoned and asked Madam Park to button it up for him. His whole arm felt weak and sore, but he still smiled widely when the old woman frowned at the dark purple bruises peeking out of his undershirt and looked at him with eyes filled with worry and regret.

Once his shirt was buttoned, he picked up his bag, resting it on his left shoulder and took the two lunch boxes off the table. "Thank you! I will see you after school" Taehyung said cheekily, bowing his head respectfully before sprinting to leave. "Have a good day" He shouted before the door closed behind him.

Although he planned to get to school early to have time to catch up with Jungkook after the weekend, but the pain in his legs made him slower than he expected. When he got to school, he could see everyone running to get to their classes before the bell would ring, which made him sigh and pick up his pace. Running was out of the question, especially with the pain stretching from his knee up to his hip and down to his ankle. He had gotten so good with hiding his limp and biting back the pain with a straight face.

He walked into class just a few seconds before the bell rang and ruffled Jungkook's hair as he walked to his seat. Usually, Jungkook would complain about Taehyung messing his hair up or even catch his hand before it would make contact with his hair, but he didn't make a sound nor moved to look at Taehyung. That was quite unusual, and before Taehyung was able to say or do anything to check on his friend, the teacher walked in and he had to sit in his seat.
