Bucky stared at the words before him making his jealousy rage inside him. Who was this Thorin and why did (Name) give in an let him touch her? Even if it was to check her injuries Bucky didn't like it. He hands the book over to Steve and taking a deep breath tries to calm himself down. Bucky was sure if she had known how he was feeling she would probably say that he had no right to be jealous. Bucky narrows his eyes as he walks over to a chair and sits down with a heavy sigh.
Placing his head in his hands he thinks about the predicament he had put you and himself in. Though Loki was right about him not being the reason she was lost, he blamed himself. If he hadn't felt so torn between her and his feelings for Natasha, he would never have ended things the way he did. He remembers the first night he had met (Name) and his heart clenches at the memory. She had looked so bright and beautiful it wasn't a surprise that he had been attracted to her.
She had a smile that would light up a room. Her sense of justice matched only that of Steve's. While thoughts of her swam through his head, his body starts to remember the heat of her touch and a need to touch her fills his body. Shaking his head, he quickly tries to push the thoughts away. There was no way she would speak to him again let alone let him touch her.
The sudden vibration of his cell phone causes him to reach into his pocket to retrieve the device. Pulling it out he unlocks it to see he had a text message from Natasha. Reading it, he clenches his jaw so hard it was starting to hurt.
'James you need to tell her the truth. She deserves that and so much more. I want my friend back. I can't be your scapegoat anymore.'
Bucky exits the app and locking his phone slips it back into his pocket. Even if he told (Name) the truth she still wouldn't go back to how she was. She would never love him or trust him the same way again. He could explain things all day until he was blue in the face; but once she had made her mind up about something or more importantly someone, that was it.
"I finished the book, and I think we have a problem." Steve calls pulling Bucky from his thoughts.
"What do you mean?" Bucky asks narrowing his eyes at his friend.
"The orc guy, Azog; apparently his master wants (Name)."
"Over my dead body." Bucky growls making Steve nod.
