      Chapter 14

                                                    2 years later.

As I look at Jake from across the table, I can’t help but laugh. He looks so nervous today for some reason and it’s so funny. He keeps nervously pulling at his black tie. Were at a really nice restaurant today. I kept asking him what the special occasion was for, but he wouldn’t answer.

He was wearing a simple black suit with a white undershirt and a black tie. And I was wearing a simple red, cocktail dress, it was really the only dressy thing I have at the moment. I was also wearing black high heels with it. I had slightly curled my freshly dyed dark brown hair.

A month ago, I decided I wanted to dye my hair. I just got sick of my plain dirty blonde hair. I’ve never dyed my hair before, but I decided to dye it myself. Jake was shocked at first, but he ended up loving it. I love the color of it too, I think it brings out my green eyes better.

I looked at Jake and raised an eyebrow. “So, are you going to tell me what this is about, or what?” I asked.

He smiled. “Can’t I take my beautiful girlfriend out for a nice dinner?” he asked.

“Yeah, but you only do this for birthdays or Valentines Day." I pointed out. " so what’s the occasion.”

He took a deep breath and stood up, I looked at him questionably. He slowly walked over to me and got down on one knee, making my eyes widen. I already knew where this was going.

“Abigail Cox, I love you with all my heart, and always have since we met in middle school. I promise to never hurt you and to always be there for you, will you marry me?” When he was done with his speech, tears came to my eyes. I didn’t realize that I was just sitting there staring at him with tears in my eyes, until he started to look nervous.

I laughed once through my tears. “Of course I’ll marry you Jake; I don’t know why you look so nervous.” I teased.

He breathed a sigh of relief. I laughed and wrapped my arms around him and kissed him, making everyone in the restaurant go aww. I pulled back blushing, realizing that everyone was staring at us. “I love you Abby.” he whispered.

I grinned at him. “I love you too Jacob.” I said, not calling him by his nickname for once.

He smiled and kissed me softly on my lips. I slowly wrapped my arms around him and kissed him back. “I can’t wait to make you Mrs. Mare.” he whispered against my lips.

I smiled. “And I can’t wait to be called Mrs. Mare.”

He smiled and kissed me again.
