Chapter 4

Emma's POV

"Nothing" Lola sighed tossing her phone on my bed.

"He can't be far I mean his parents said he comes home once a day to see Nichole and to eat with them" Megan said trying to make me feel better

"Maybe we can stay at his house all day until he comes home!" Henry suggested

"I'm almost positive he's avoiding us Henry. We are the last people he wants to see" I said

It's been two weeks since Blake has gone rogue. He hasn't attended school, nor answered our texts or calls. The only way we know he's still in town is because of his parents who told us that he does come home eventually.

I remember that day he called me saying he was sick. Thinking back at it makes me realize that he really wasn't sick. Why would he lie to me?

Since Blake doesn't come to school it's been so easy for Angie to torture me. Now not only do the other popular kids pick on me but so do the nerds and the loners. It's hard not having Blake there to stand up for me or to be there but I know I'm just being selfish. I can take care of myself. I still have Henry, Meg, and Eric at school even though I barely have classes with them. I just wish my life and everyone else's were normal.

"He probably needs space, I mean he is going through a lot of shit" Lola said defending him

"Easy for you to say. You're boyfriend isn't ignoring you. He could've at least told me why" I groaned

"I'm sure it has nothing to do with you" Eric said

"He's probably at the gang meetings" Megan said

"Maybe I can go-"

"No!" Both me and Lola said cutting off Henry

"You're not going, not after what happened last time. Blake's right, it's too dangerous" Lola said pacing around my room

"How can we help him then?" Henry asked

"We leave him be for now. He's probably spending as much time with Nichole as he can. When he's ready he'll come back" I said giving everyone a small smile

Blake's POV

I parked my car two stores away from the familiar dark alley and made my way towards it. As I walked closer to the door the more my stomach turned. I opened the door and was immediately hit with the familiar stench.

I walked to my boss's office across the room and made sure to grab a cigarette on the way.

"Stevens!" My boss boomed as I held out my cigarette towards one of his assistants so that they could light it.

"Hey" I mumbled placing the newly lit cigarette between my lips, inhaling the addicting poison causing me relax a little as a sat down.

"Here's cash and here's the product." My boss said sliding two big envelopes across his desk.

"Am I doing it alone this time?" I asked usually I have a partner but this time it seems like it's just me today which is unusual.

"I assigned the new guy with you but it seems that he's late and you know what happens when you're late Stevens" the boss laughed making me hum

"So just go alone and if you want you can recruit a member if you like" the boss added dismissing me

I got up from my seat and went to opened the door but my boss's voice stopped me.
